Easy DIY Sugar Scrub

You Will Need:

  • 1 Cup of Sugar

  • Oil of Choice
(Fractionated Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, and Apricot Oil are some great options.)

  • Essential Oils (Optional)
(Lavender, Frankincense, and Grapefruit are some great options.)

  • Bowl

  • Mason Jar or Tupperware style Container

How to Make Your Sugar Scrub:

  • In a mixing bowl add your sugar and oil of choice to combine.

  • Add a little bit of oil at a time so you create a consistency which feels almost like wet sand.

  • If you add a bit too much oil, you can just add a little more sugar.

  • If you want to add essential oils, simply add 7-10 drops of your favorite oil to your mixture and mix to combine.

  • Then, pour your sugar scrub into your Mason Jar or Tupperware style container

To Use:

  • Gently apply your scrub all over to exfoliate your skin.

  • The sugar will clear away anything ready to be released while the oil will polish and hydrate your skin.

  • Rinse the scrub off your skin, making sure that you get all of it, including from the bottoms of your feet.

  • After you’re finished, pat dry and enjoy your rejuvenated skin.

  • You may want to use your scrub in the bathtub because the bottom of your feet may be slippery from the oil. If you’re not a bathtub person, just be careful when using in the shower.

  • This also makes a great gift or a fun project to make with a friend. Enjoy!

DIY Lash Serum

Lash.jpg

My favorite DIY Lash Serum Ever!

This is a really easy recipe that you’ll be able to whip up super quick.

All You Need Is:

Castor Oil
Lavender Essential Oil
Mascara Wand
Small Jar or you can order mascara blanks with wands online if you’d prefer it to a jar.

Fill your jar or mascara blank with castor oil and add 3-5 drops lavender essential oil. Mix and store in a room temperature drawer or cupboard.

Apply a light layer to the top of your lashes before you go to sleep. You’ll apply the serum to the opposite way you apply mascara; on top rather than underneath. You can also apply this to your brows and to your baby hairs for all of you post-partum mamas out there. *Avoid getting this into your eyes as it stings…ask me how I know this. This is why you apply it to the top of your lashes.

This serum is awesome and it really works. No need for extensions or toxic serums when you can make this non toxic version at home. Enjoy!:)

DIY Deep Conditioing + Scalp Treatment

DIY Scalp Treatment.jpg

This is a great non-toxic and plant based deep conditioning treatment you can make at home. If you feel like your hair is a bit dry or if you’re experiencing an itchy scalp, try this DIY treatment to give your Hair + Scalp a boost of hydration and nourishment.

You’ll Need:

5 Drops Tea Tree Oil
5 Drops Rosemary
3-5 Drops Peppermint
2-4 Tablespoons Coconut or Olive Oil (Depending on the length of your hair)
Shower Cap or Plastic Grocery Bag
Bobby Pins

Mix ingredients into a bowl or an applicator bottle and apply to your scalp.
Massage mixture all over your scalp with the pads of your fingers and not with your finger nails.
Apply remaining mixture onto and throughout your hair. (Your hair should be wet and oily.)
Pin your hair into a top knot and place shower cap or plastic grocery bag over your hair.
Leave this treatment on for at least 35-40 minutes. Wash out completely in the shower when you’re finished deep conditioning.

***This treatment will tingle due to the essential oils, if you have a Sensitive Scalp, Reduce Oils by Half when you make your mixture. ***
