February | A Month of Love

Hello and Happy February~

I hope this finds you well as we officially welcome this new month and new energy too. If you’ve been here for a while, you may know that this is my favorite month of the year. As the teeniest month of the year, there’s something special about setting intentions or curating a daily practice throughout the month of February. If it takes 21 days to create a healthy new habit; this month with 29 days (this year) gives us all an opportunity to invest in something we feel called to shift or nurture.

Have you been fine tuning your goals or intentions for this new year? Sometimes it takes a little while to shift into the new year energy and feel ready to begin moving through the themes or dreams you feel called to work on this year. What are some of the things that have been showing up for you? Have you been noticing any messages or nudges about what start with or how to begin? We often receive signs about what we’re being guided to focus on or work on but we may not notice that they’re actually messages or answers to questions we’ve been asking. Sometimes these messages show up as thoughts, or actual words or conversations you may hear over and over again from people you know or from people you pass on the street or in a movie or thread you read online.  Sometimes they may show up as memories or a deep knowingness of what to invest your attention in next. Sometimes you may see pictures, literal signs, or other things like book titles that resonate for you or meaningful songs that are all messages supporting you in this next phase of your life. If you feel like you could use some extra support in receiving your messages, all you have to do is ask your guides and angels for some clear signs in your physical world and you’ll begin to receive your messages in your day-to-day life.

One of the big themes that has been showing up for me lately, and maybe this will resonate for you too is a message about calm, care, and comfort. I think this is a very timely message, especially in a month that has a big theme about love baked right into it. When I think about February, one of the first things that shows up is love. Taking good care of oneself and the people in our lives is a very loving and worthwhile investment, don’t you think? Something that I find over and over for highly sensitive people (like yourself) however, is that it’s often much easier and more natural for sensitive souls to take good care of loved ones and to put themselves on the back burner. A very clear message that I’ve been receiving is about taking good care of ourselves first so that we can be a source of comfort, calm, and support for the people in our lives without burning ourselves out in the process.

As you’re streamlining your intentions for your new year, could you maybe include taking good care of yourself and making self love a healthy new habit during the month of February? If the thought of this makes you hold your breath, take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth…good. (repeat if necessary) Like any new habit, you may feel a little wobbly at first but each day will get a little easier and before you know it, you’ll find that this is easier than you anticipated. I think you’ll find the benefits of taking good care of yourself will be exponential and a win for the people in your life too. You can choose one thing each day throughout the month that fills you up and makes you feel loved and taken care of and you can choose something different each day if you’d like. You get to decide how to honor this nudge to make this month of love a month that also focuses on loving yourself.

Loving yourself is the best gift you can give to yourself and the people you love. You may also find that you feel more grounded, focused, and clear when you begin this practice. This can help you to feel more centered in your life even when things get a bit stormy. Investing in this practice can help you to move through the changing tides with more flexibility and increased stability too. You may also inspire people around you to take better care of themselves as well.

With so much happening in the world around us that it can feel like one day is the equivalent of what once felt like a week of happenings; this theme is not only timely and supportive but it also feels like a salve to the soul. You don’t have to spend any money to honor this call to invest in self love throughout February. Choose to invest in things that support you that are readily available to you right now, today. There’s no one way to do this, only that ways that are right for you. Perhaps you’re receiving some messages and nudges about what some of these things might be right now as you’re reading this message. Trust the divine guidance that you’re receiving and allow yourself to say yes to investing in taking good care of yourself this month and making February a month of self love and the beginning of a healthy habit for you that you can enjoy for years to come. I promise, you’re 100% worth the investment!

If you feel guided to work with me this month, I would love to offer you some support; I’m here for you. I’ve included a special for you below starting today and going through the weekend, ending Sunday night 5 pm pacific time.

I’m wishing you a wonderful month filled with kind and loving people, experiences, and opportunities.

As always, I’m sending you so much support and love from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!
Thank you so much for being here with me.
With deepest gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year~
Welcome to 2024!
I hope this new year will bring you and yours blessings, joy, happiness, and peace. I hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and that this message is finding you well and rested as we begin a new year.

I want to gently remind you that the holiday hangover phenomenon is real and if you're finding yourself in need of a little more rest, a little more quiet, and a little more time to fully move into the new year energy, you're not alone. If you can find little ways to honor your need to go slowly this first week of the new year, please give yourself permission to do so. Things that feel supportive for you can help you move more gently into this new year.

Whether it's things like:

  • jammies, cozy socks, and tea or

  • slowly putting away holiday decorations at your own pace, or

  • limiting screen time so your body can rest and recover or

  • ________________________

Any of these things can help you so that you feel ready to focus on the new year when the timing is more aligned for you and your energy. Trying to push or force yourself to be ready when you're not isn't helpful for you. I promise you'll feel the shift happen, but for now please be gentle with yourself and honor the wisdom you're receiving.

However, if you are starting to feel the subtle shifts showing up for you right now, you may want to spend a little time, even 10 minutes investing in some journaling or listing themes that you feel guided to focus on throughout your new year. There's no one way or right way to do this; only the ways that resonate for you right now. You may feel guided to choose a word as a theme or perhaps you have a few themes or goals that you know you want to focus on this year. Maybe you want to make a new vision board or screen saver collage to help you to see the things that are a focus for you in 2024. Maybe you feel guided to use a combination of things to help honor and focus your intentions for your new year. In any ways that you feel guided to move through this process, you will find that it helps to move you forward. Any action that you take no matter how seemingly small helps to build momentum and supports you in taking the next steps.

As you move through this process, I encourage you to include some dreams to your vision boards, lists, themes, and words. Often times, especially as adults we focus on the projects that are prescient, currently in motion, and things that are practical or pragmatic. These are worthwhile and important aspects to include in this sacred work. However, that being said, please leave a little room for dreaming, laughter, joy, fun, and play. After decades (yes...decades) of working with clients and students from all kinds of backgrounds, this is an area that shows up again and again. Please don't feel sad if you're thinking that these lighter or perhaps less prescient aspects of life weren't the first things that popped up for you as you were thinking about what might be on your list for 2024. You can include anything that you want, and these aspects are equally important and as valuable as the aspects that focus on the bottom line. You don't have to choose only from column A, you get to choose whatever you feel guided to choose and you can update your list at any time. Yes, you're worth it and no, you don't have to finish several items on your to do list before you can enjoy happiness, joy, and peace. You are worthy right now.

This time of year, and this important beginning of the new year work can sometimes include reviewing the past year or maybe even several years. This is a natural part of the process. You may be continuing some work or themes that are currently in progress for you. You may find that this review process brings up a lot of emotions and memories for you. Sometimes those emotions can include grief or sadness. I want to gently remind you that these are natural feelings and experiences that can show up while doing this kind of work. Allowing yourself to move through these feelings can be a big support system for you. However, if you feel guided to reach out for support from someone else as well, that can also be a powerful support system for you.

No matter where you find yourself today in this new 2024 energy, know that you're moving into the energy at the pace that is right for you. If you feel like jumping in and starting your year off with projects and activities that resonate for you, great! If you feel like moving a bit more softly and quietly into the new year, great! If you find yourself somewhere in the middle, great! You're not in a competition and honoring the guidance you're receiving about how to move into your new year is wise and sage advice. You're already meeting, adjusting, and working with the new energy right now and you get to choose how to do that important work that shifts you into this new year.

I hope that you'll enjoy this process and the beginning of this new year. I'm so thankful to be sharing this new year with you! Thank you for being here.

As always, I'm sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, straight to you!
With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Reaching for Peace

I hope this finds you well as we officially move into the final month of the year. If you celebrated Thanksgiving last week, I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend and are recovering from all the yummy food and festivities.

As we move into December, we move full swing into the holiday season and can feel the tempo of the energy increasing as we move toward the end of the year. This time of year brings up all kinds of things for us no matter where we are or how old we are. This time of year can activate old memories, nostalgia, excitement, and an opportunity to participate in favorite activities that mark this season for you or to create or cultivate new traditions that you enjoy. It’s also a time that can feel like it takes on a rhythm all its own and sometimes it can feel like the season is moving too quickly or that you aren’t able to be fully present in the way you want. This experience is universal, it’s not a message that you aren’t doing something right or that you aren’t trying hard enough to hold onto the holiday season; it’s part and parcel of this movement toward the end of the year.

In addition to the holiday season we’re also wrapping up the remainder of the Autumn season in the Northern Hemisphere and moving into Winter on December 21st. There are so many things happening this month and we get to move through these shifts and changes all while honoring the season in the ways that are right for us. One of the ways you can capitalize on the gentility and quiet spaces between all the things happening this season is by reaching for peace. This is something that will be personal to you and allows you to reach for peace in the ways that resonate for you. For some, it may mean saying yes to the aspects of the season that bring the most joy and fulfillment. For others it may mean saying no to too many requests for time away from home. It may mean embracing the simple and significant moments that are meaningful for you and yours. It may be sitting in front of the fire with a cup of cider or caroling or ________________. It could be preparing a favorite holiday dish or simply enjoying the sparkling lights that are popping up all over houses, streets, and trees each day. There’s no one way or right way to reach for peace this season. There are only the ways that are right for you and yours. In fact, you may find that one day you choose something that feels right and another day something else is the exact right choice. It’s about finding the right balance between saying yes to the activities that are right for you while also saying no to the ones that aren’t a fit this year. I promise, you’ll know which ones are a yes and which ones are a no. Just check in with yourself and you’ll receive a clear message. By checking in with yourself throughout December, you’ll find that you automatically experience more peace and presence; and you may find that you feel more connected to the holiday season at the same time.

As we turn the final page on the calendar this year, it’s also natural to take a little time to reflect on all that you’ve experienced during 2023. This review process may have already started for you, maybe you’re already looking over the things you’ve done, how you’ve shifted, and the things you’re bringing with you into the new year. This is a good time to allow yourself to gently review your year while also letting yourself move through this process in the ways that feel right for you. Maybe you keep a journal and you feel guided to read through it to reflect on your year. Maybe you made a vision board this year and you feel guided to look over it and see what you experienced and what is still being created and still in progress. Maybe you keep a photo journal and feel guided to scroll through your life in pictures or video to reflect on your year. Taking a little time to move through this process and to glean any takeaways from the themes you experienced this year can be very supportive. Like most things this season, there’s no need to push or force this process, rather move through it in the ways that feel right for you.

While there are lots of things happening this month, here we are at the very beginning which allows you to choose how you want to move through this holiday season and the last month of 2023. I invite you to take a little time today or tomorrow to check in with yourself about how you want to celebrate December. Leaning into the season in the ways that resonate for you will allow you to experience more presence and more peace. Moving at your own pace will allow you to make the most of this time and yes, you’re worth it.

I’m wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy holiday season and a happy new year!

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, straight to you!
Thank you for sharing your year with me.
With love and deepest gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

Grace | Gratitude | Grit

Happy November!

I hope this finds you well as we begin a new month and officially move into the last couple of months of 2023. This year has been a bumpy one for so many people and as we prepare to start this new month, I wanted to share the messages and themes that I’ve received for November. You may be receiving these messages too because as a highly sensitive soul, you’re aware of the subtle energies and shifts happening around and within you.

In the states, we celebrate Thanksgiving in November and there’s a large focus on the theme of gratitude at this time of year. You don’t need to live in the states to embrace or focus on gratitude in your life, this month or any month. However, this practice can help to shift our focus to a place of reflection on what it is that we’re grateful for and research shows that this practice can reduce stress and increase happiness. These are only a couple of aspects or outcomes that people report when participating in active gratitude activities. I often find that it also increases love and opens the heart chakra for clients. I’ve often found that it can help to clear and open up stagnant or slow energy as well and help to get energy, inspiration, and even creativity moving for people. There are lots of ways to participate in a gratitude practice and there are videos, blog posts, and entire books devoted to the topic. However, what I know for sure is that there are no right ways to do this; there are the ways that work best for you,  your schedule, and personal style. If you feel guided to participate in a gratitude activity throughout the month of November, this is a wonderful day or week to start. You may want to document how you’re feeling on day 1 of your process including stress levels, health, and overall well being so you can reflect back on that at the end of the month to see all the takeaways that you personally receive from the process.

You may be thinking that gratitude seems like a very prescient theme for this time of year and may wonder how it stands out as a specific message for the month. The big themes that have shown up for this month include a deep focus on taking care of the nervous system, immune system, and our inner personal strength or constitution. When we look at these themes, one of the biggest aspects that ties all of them together is stress or stressors. I know, not a very flowery or fun topic. However, this has been the strongest theme for us as we move into this month.

The nervous system is the first line of defense for us as we go about our daily lives and when we are overly stressed we can experience an overwhelm or even an overload on our system. This can create a lot of different experiences for people including but not limited to exhaustion, fatigue, lethargy, and feeling as if you have limited bandwidth for stress. This experience can have an impact on your immune system as well and can lead to feeling off or unwell or even experiencing a lot of the cycles of sniffles and yuck. Both of these can impact your personal strength or constitution by making you feel like you don’t have enough get up and go to get things done. This can lead to feelings of self doubt, worry, or even passing on positive experiences or opportunities.

The good news here is that each of these aspects work together, hand in hand as a team. As we pour into and take care of one of these aspects, we automatically help to support the other aspects at the same time. As we invest in these areas this month, even in seemingly small ways, we’re more easily able to move through the energy, news, and day to day experiences that are happening within and around us. When we look at the overall message, we can see that it’s about taking good care of ourselves.

Another word for Grace is Kindness.
Another word for Gratitude is Appreciation.
Another word for Grit is Determination

  • When you see and feel the impact of these words, and think about how to apply them to yourself, what kinds of images, thoughts, or feelings show up for you?

  • When you think about ways that you could support and honor your own systems and personal well being, what things show up for you right away? Why?

  • Which of these three words do you feel you’re being guided to focus on the most right now? Grace, Gratitude, or Grit? Why?

  • Which of the three words feels the most challenging for you to honor or pour into for yourself?

  • How can you find ways to increase this aspect in your life even in seemingly small ways?

Hopefully by answering these questions, you’ll be able to better understand the areas or themes that are especially prescient for you right now. Like most things, you may find that you share common interests with people in your circle about how to honor these aspects of your life. However, you may have a different style than some of the people in your circle too. This is about finding the ways that work for you because these will be things that resonate with you and your lifestyle and allow you to continue to practice them in your daily life.
I’ve included some items below that can help to support these themes of Grace, Gratitude, and Grit while we work to honor our systems this month. Please remember this is not a be all end all list in any way. This is just a small list to help inspire you to create a practice or system that is right for you.

Grace | Kindness

  • Using positive words to describe yourself to others and to yourself

  • Making space for rest and relaxation even if for only 15-20 minutes each day

  • Treating yourself the way you treat others

  • Watching a favorite movie or show that you love, just because.

  • Reading for pleasure

  • Listening to or playing music

  • Enjoying a creative project

  • Taking a nap or going to sleep early if you feel tired

  • Using the fancy dishes, table linens, or candles that you always save for someone special. (You’re someone special)

  • Make a meal or a special dessert that you really love just for the fun of it.

  • Ask for help when you need it and allow someone to help you when it’s offered.

  • Drink more water

  • Eat nutrient dense foods

  • Add broths, ferments, and other nourishing foods to your meal plan

  • Take vitamins and minerals

  • Learn a new skill or hobby that you’ve been wanting to try

  • Laugh out loud, for real, watch or listen to things that make you laugh

  • Play and have fun

Gratitude | Appreciation

  • Participate in a gratitude practice (in any way that resonates for you)

  • Get outside into nature to see and take in the beauty and changes that are happening all around you.

  • Walk or participate in gentle movement or exercise. Taking care of the body is a deep appreciation practice.

  • Practice something that you love and is intrinsically part
    of who you are

  • Tell someone in your life what they mean to you

  • Read through old letters or look through old pictures of people and places that have deeply impacted your life.

  • Ask someone you trust (or as many people as you feel guided to include) to share 3 aspects about you or 3 words to describe you to help you better understand and appreciate your impact on the people in your world.

  • Focus on increasing the aspects of your life that bring you joy, happiness, glee, and overall peace. (Only you know what these are and any increase in them in any amount counts as an increase.)

Grit | Determination

  • Focusing on one step at a time

  • Having a clear focus on what you’re working toward and continuing to make concerted effort toward that goal.

  • Reaching out for support from people in the area of your focus

  • Saying no to demands on your time and energy if it’s draining you or creating extra strain and stress.

  • Saying yes to positive opportunities and experiences.

  • Celebrating small and big wins

  • Saying yes to support and love from people in your inner circle and even from your outer circle

  • Knowing when to take a break and when to begin again.

  • Resting when you’re guided so you have the energy to cultivate momentum again when you’re ready.

  • Taking inventory of how far you’ve come as a reminder that everything you’ve been through in the past is proof that you’ve gotten to where you are today from determination and taking things one step at a time.

I hope this will inspire and support you as we move through this month, together. Remember, it’s not about how many things you’re doing, it’s about finding the ways that are right for you to honor and support you through this process. It may be 2 or 3 things that you know you’re being guided to do that make you feel great and add value and joy to your life right now. As you pour into any of these aspects, you will automatically support the other aspects as well, cultivating a positive experience for yourself and supporting you as you move through these themes, this month.

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!

If you’re celebrating Thanksgiving this month, I’m wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving.

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Harvest Full Moon

We’re welcoming the Harvest Full Moon today and you’re probably already feeling its big energy. While all full moon cycles are healing and impactful, this one felt very prescient. I wanted to send you a message with some tips to help you move through this energy this weekend which will also bring the beginning of a new month on Sunday. We’re moving through some really big shifts in the next few days so I hope you will find some messages below that will support you and offer you some additional comfort this weekend.

When we think about the harvest season, you may think about bringing in the literal fruits of your labor that you planted in the spring and summer seasons. For many, this is absolutely the case and if you’ve planted a physical garden, you’ve probably been very busy bringing in and putting up your harvest for the winter. This is also a time to think about the other aspects you’ve sewn in the Spring and Summer seasons that are coming in during this time of harvest. This is a powerful time to look back over your journal entries, goals, or themes that you’ve been working on since the beginning of Spring, back in March. Maybe you don’t have a physical record of your intentions but you’ve been holding them close to your heart for safe keeping. In any ways that you’ve been keeping track of your dreams, intentions, or goals during this time, taking some time to reflect on what has shifted, what has come through for you, what is still shifting, and what has cleared is a powerful way to gain insight into your personal harvest season. Maybe you’ll find some blessings that you weren’t expecting when you look back, and maybe you’ll find that there are things that you feel guided to let go as we continue to move through this Autumn season.

Highly sensitive people (like yourself) may experience an increased sensitivity during the Full Moon cycle and may also experience Full Moon symptoms. The Full Moon cycle gives us an opportunity to release, rest, and heal. There aren’t any right ways to do this, in fact, honoring the process that matches your rhythm will be the best way for you to move through the energy. I’ve included some things below that may offer you additional support, please see this list as inspiration or a jumping off point for you to curate a support system that works best for you.

  • Drink More Water: You may notice that you feel parched or that you need more water than usual at this time.

  • Get Into Water: You can take a Bath or Shower or get into your Hot Tub, or go for a Swim. Being in water can help your body to decompress and relax. You can also add Epsom or sea salt to your bath if you feel guided.

  • Be Near Water: Take a walk next to the beach, creek, or lake. Listening to the sound of water helps your body decompress and relax. You can listen to sound files of water and you’ll notice your body automatically releasing stress. You don’t have to physically go to a water source if that’s not possible for you at this time.

  • Slow Down (to the best of your ability) Even if this means winding down a bit earlier than usual, or taking one thing off your list.

  • Naps: Even if you aren’t a napper, if you feel like you need to take a nap and you can, please take a nap.

  • Eat Gentle Foods: Some people experience sensitivity to foods at this time and feel guided to eat gentle foods and drink gentle beverages. Listen to your body and do what feels right for you.

  • Avoid Intense Places (to the best of your ability) This may not be the very best time for you to go to Costco, the DMV, or places where there are lots of people and lots of things happening everywhere.

  • Avoid Intense People (to the best of your ability) Give yourself permission to say no to people who drain your energy and drain your time.

  • Say Yes to Gentle Environments and Gentle Sounds in your Home (to the best of your ability) Listening to music or watching something that is soothing or supportive for you can be very helpful at this time. You may feel guided to take a little break from news and social media feeds so you can let down and truly rest.

  • Gentle Clothes: Some highly sensitive people find their already sensitive skin becomes even more sensitive at this time. You may want to wear super soft fabrics, and use your favorite blanket, and softest sheets. Some people experience a low grade pain under their skin at this time, so focus on cozy, soft, and loose clothing if you experience this symptom.

  • Bloating, Headaches, Low Grade Fever, and Body Aches: If you experience any of these symptoms during the full moon cycle, you may want to try to rest, get as much sleep as you can, and try to be very good to yourself. You may find that drinking extra water can help to alleviate some of the symptoms. These symptoms usually shift pretty quickly but if they persist, contact your health care professional.

  • Sleep Disturbances: Some sensitive souls find they experience insomnia or other sleep disturbances during the Full Moon cycle. You may want to set up your sleeping space for success by removing devices including tv’s, phones, tablets etc so you can remove blue light from your space. You may also want to avoid harsh or intense news stories, shows, or movies before sleeping. You may want to listen to a guided meditation, set up your diffuser, or read from a physical book to help you wind down for sleeping.

  • Say Yes to Things that Bring You Comfort and Joy: Focusing on taking good care of yourself, resting when you’re guided, and doing things that feel uplifting, joyful, and supportive are important at this time.

I hope this will give you some support and inspiration as to how you can best honor yourself during this Harvest Full Moon cycle. I encourage you to take a little time to look over your own personal harvest for this year as well as taking good care of yourself during this prescient Full Moon cycle. I’m wishing you a very gentle, restorative, and positive Full Moon experience.

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!
With love and gratitude,

Comfort, Care, and Contentment

I hope this finds you well as we begin a brand new month and wind down the last few weeks of summer together, here in the Northern Hemisphere. It feels like last month was especially long, I’m not sure why but it feels like it has been a long time since we connected. I hope that your summer has been good to you and that you’ve enjoyed the long, warm, and slow days of the season. Every time we arrive at September, even though there are still a few weeks before we change seasons, there is a palpable shift that happens. Are you feeling it today, too? There’s almost a feeling of urgency or a sense that it’s time to get things prepared and ready for the change that’s coming. Maybe some of this is connected to the back to school energy happening, maybe some of it is connected to harvests being brought in, and maybe it’s because we can see and feel these small but significant shifts happening letting us know that Autumn is coming. There are some strong themes that we can benefit from at this time which can allow us to harness this energy to get things moving forward in our own lives. I’ve included a few for you below and hope they will offer you support, encouragement, and inspiration for your new month.

You may notice that you feel guided (or almost compelled) to organize, to take an inventory, and to streamline systems and spaces in your home or office. You may have noticed that you’ve been meaning to get around to this but it just didn’t happen during the summer but now all of a sudden you feel ready and want to dig into this project. This is a big part of this theme happening right now. If this is showing up for you, this is a powerful time to lean into that guidance you’re receiving. Because of back to school, you’ll find that there are lots of organizational supplies, systems, and items you may need readily available to you in most big box style stores and often at a reduced price point.

Lightening your load often goes hand in hand with organizing; maybe you feel good about the systems you have in place right now but feel the energy in your home is heavy or weighed down. Sometimes an easy and effective way to lighten the feeling in your home can be to go through closets or storage spaces to see if there are things that can be donated, recycled, or, released. Sometimes, things that we’re no longer using can take up a lot of physical and energetic space in our homes and releasing them can lighten the energy in your space exponentially. You may even notice that your space feels larger, has more breathing room, and physically feels lighter to you and the people living there. Often times, clearing out things that are no longer needed can increase calm, peace, and restfulness in the space as well.

Focusing on comfort and care is also a strong theme that’s showing up right now. You may find yourself thinking about creature comforts that you enjoy during the Autumn season. You may be thinking about the food you want to cook, or cozy clothes you’re looking forward to wearing, the crisp cool air outside, pulling out your favorite blanket, or watching your favorite fall themed movies or shows. (Hello, Gilmore Girls and Harry Potter.) This process of thinking about the things that feel like the new season to you, help you to move into that new season. This process also allows you to start creating a space that feels comforting and nurturing for you. As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, we often spend more time inside. Making your home a place that rises up to greet you while also helping you to feel safe and supported is one of the biggest themes showing up right now. Give yourself permission to have fun with this process. You don’t have to spend a lot of money doing this, in fact you don’t have to spend any money. As you’re going through your storage spaces, I think you’ll find treasures that you want to get out and enjoy for this new season.  If you think about it, organization and lightening your load are also ways to support comfort and care. I think this is one of the most magical aspects of this time of year. It seems like all of the themes coming through, while each with its own unique aspect and gifts are all working together to support us in moving into a season of comfort, care, and contentment.

While these themes are definitely prescient at this time, they seem especially timely for all of us as we see headlines and reports coming in over the last week or so about new regulations and restrictions similar to that of 2020. As a highly sensitive person, I want to encourage you to think about adding some things to your comfort or care systems that offer you ways to decompress from stress, tension, or feelings of overwhelm. You may already have these things in your home. As you’re working on organizing and shifting things around, you may feel guided to have some things you enjoy in arms reach of places you enjoy sitting so you can easily access them when you feel guided. There’s no one way or right way to do this, just the ways that feel right for you and your home. I’ve included a few things below that may be a fit for you, please use this as inspiration for your own list of comfort or care systems.

  • Coloring Books, Crayons, or Markers

  • Physical Books

  • Paint by Number Set

  • Yarn for Knitting, Crochet, or Macrame

  • Music, Playlists, or Musical Instruments

  • Sketchbook

  • Essential Oils

  • House Plants

  • Games

  • Puzzles

  • Journal

  • Exercise Equipment (Includes Yoga mat, weights, hiking boots, etc)

  • Epsom Salt for Salt Baths

  • Cozy Blanket

  • Soft Gentle Clothing

  • Someone to call if you need extra support

I’m wishing you a wonderful new month and a gentle transition from summer into autumn. I hope that you will enjoy riding these waves that are coming through right now to support us as we collectively organize, lighten our load, and focus on comfort and care.

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, straight to you!

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Circling Back

Happy August! I hope this finds you well as move into the final full month of Summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. Does it feel like this season has been moving really quickly? It does to me; it feels like before we know it the season is going to be shifting and the summer will be behind us. I hope that your summer has been good to you so far and that you’re enjoying these long sunny days.

In addition to the feeling of the summer moving right along I’ve also noticed a strong theme showing up for me and for other people that I’ve been talking to, maybe you’re noticing it too. The theme of things circling back. Are you finding this theme showing up in your life right now, too? This theme is showing up in all different shapes and sizes. For some people, it may be things that they’ve expected, tasks, projects, or issues that have been shelved for whatever reasons. For others it may be things they haven’t thought about in a long time showing back up for an opportunity for a refresh or a reframe. This theme is also showing up in ways that can feel like a nudge that we may be trying to put off for another day or even telling ourselves that a particular area of our lives is behind us for whatever reasons. This circling back theme is showing up in all different forms and all different levels of intensity. Some of the ways it’s making itself known can feel really fun, exciting, and even very nostalgic while others can show up as opportunities for personal growth, healing, and letting go of things that are finished. Some of these themes contain all of these feelings, experiences, and opportunities all at once. No matter how this theme is showing up for you right now, allowing yourself to notice, honor, and to the best of your ability lean into it can be very supportive for you.

When themes show up in our lives, we’re being given an opportunity to focus our energy on that experience and allow it to support us as we move through the theme for as long as it’s with us. Sometimes this theme is an opportunity for us to get back to a part of ourselves that we’ve been separated from for whatever reason. It can help us to heal and to reconnect to an aspect of ourselves and our lives that we want to nurture and fold back into the fabric of our daily lives. Sometimes the theme helps us to achieve or move through a personal challenge or goal that we’ve been guided to pursue. Sometimes, we’re given an opportunity to fix, finish, or finalize some things we’ve been putting off which allows us to feel a sense of accomplishment, relief, and to enjoy the experience of finishing what was started. While other times the theme helps us to cement into our being that releasing and closing a chapter or making space for healthier and more peaceful people, places, and situations is the right choice.

Sometimes when themes show up, we know how to honor them, we feel called, compelled, or committed to taking action in concert with them. We use the nudge or repeating signs that we’re receiving to help us move through the experience. Other times we may feel confused or unsure why we’re receiving this opportunity to redo or rework through something we thought we were finished with for whatever reason. In this case, you can reach out for support from a trusted support person, or you can journal about it to try to get a better understanding of the situation. If you’re in a place where you aren’t sure if you’re understanding the theme that you’re experiencing, you’re not alone. In this situation, you can ask for clear signs that will help you to know which theme is showing up for you right now. There’s no “right way” to ask for this support, you can say it out loud, you can think it, you can write it in your journal, whatever feels right for you, is the “right” way. Then, you’ll start to notice signs in your life about your theme. You may start to see physical signs out in the world about your theme, you may overhear conversations that apply to your theme, you may find books or perhaps a dear friend will send you a book that supports your theme. Songs on the radio, movies, magazine articles, it will feel like all things are pointing to the same themes, and the theme is about helping you to know what you’re being called to circle back to in your life.

When you realize what your theme or themes are, you can begin to move through them in the ways that feel like a fit for you. Sometimes, we can move through these opportunities for growth by ourselves but most of the time, we need support from other people. Giving yourself permission to ask for help when you’re guided will help you move through these themes more gently. Telling people that you know and trust that you’re working on something that’s important to you and letting them know how they can support you can be very powerful for both of you. Sometimes, you may need someone to listen to what you’re experiencing. Maybe you’ll need help physically moving something or another set of eyes looking at what you’re working on to offer you suggestions, insight, or support. Sometimes, you may want to talk to a professional in the area of your theme. Any ways that you feel guided to reach out for support will be helpful for you as you move through your personal circling back experience.

When we take some time to honor, accept, and work through our themes to the best of our ability, we’re able to make space in our lives for healing, joy, and opportunities we may not have realized were available to us. We add more light into our lives by doing this work while lightening our load at the same time. I look forward to supporting you in any way that I can as you work through this time. You’re not alone, we’re all working through this circling back process together.

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!

With love and gratitude,

Kristy~xoxo

Back to Basics

Hello, I hope this finds you well as we welcome July.
This year is moving right along, isn’t it? Time feels as if it’s speeding up, you have probably noticed this in your own life too. If it feels like you’re trying to get to all the things on your list each day but find that the days are getting away from you, you’re not alone. There’s a slipping and sliding that’s happening and we feel it in different ways. Sometimes we notice this shift happening when the days just seem to fly by or to slip through our fingers. Other times we notice it when we can’t remember what we were doing 5 minutes earlier or why we walked into a room even though we know it was for something important. Sometimes we notice this experience when we find our days get a bit derailed for one reason or another and we can’t quite put our finger on what happened. Often in the middle of all of these experiences, you may find yourself feeling tired, exhausted, or just in need of more sleep than usual. All of these themes have been showing up lately, and if you’re experiencing them, you’re in good company.

Sometimes highly sensitive people, like yourself can feel nervous, overwhelmed, or uncomfortable with these kinds of shifts. Some may feel that they are dropping the ball, or need to get it together, or believe that their tried-and-true organization system is no longer working and in need of a tune up. Sometimes, this is a good time to shake things up and to try something new but sometimes it’s a message about getting back to basics. This message about getting things paired back has been coming through a lot lately, maybe you’ve been receiving this message too. Getting back to basics is often confused with not having any fun or not getting to try new things. While I understand the misconception that back to basics may seem to mean no frills or no fun, I promise that’s not the case here.

This shift can create more space in your day-to-day life that will allow you to create or experience more frills or fun in ways that feel like a fit for you. By clearing away the excess noise, pressure, stuff, and sometimes even people or situations that make you feel overwhelmed or bogged down you more easily create room to live in ways that are meaningful for you. Sometimes it feels like we don’t have places where we can pair things back, but the more that we focus on one area at a time, we find things that we can clear away. It’s similar to clearing out a closet. At first it may seem that you need to keep every item you have tucked away but the more you look at what’s actually in there, the more you realize there’s room to make edits and decide to let some things go. Afterward, it feels so much lighter, you may actually find things you forgot about, and you feel refreshed and excited about enjoying what you decided to keep.

This month, I invite you to take a little inventory of the areas within your life that may have spaces where you can pair back, and make some edits. These don’t have to be huge things; every little action adds up to big change. You can give yourself permission to take one thing off your list each day to free up some space so you can choose to do something that brings you joy. You can say no to an invitation that doesn’t work for you and your schedule this month. You can ask for help or support in an area of your life where you feel like you’re doing all the heavy lifting and need a helping hand. You can prioritize an activity that you genuinely love which feeds your soul, even if it doesn’t check a box on your to do list. Taking good care of yourself is very important and is often the one item not on the to do list. It’s often relegated to the alternate list, under the guise that if everything is completed on the daily list, it will have a chance. However, it’s often not picked or other things seem to take priority pushing it further and further down the alternate list. This month, while we focus on getting back to basics, I want to gently remind you that you’re valuable and important. Taking good care of yourself and honoring your needs and limits are priorities and deserving of being on the daily list, not the alternate list.

I’m wishing you a wonderful month, filled with kind, loving, and positive people and experiences. If you’re celebrating the 4th of the July, I’m wishing you a very happy holiday!

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Simplicity and Streamlining as We Meet the Middle of the Year

Hello, welcome to June
I hope this finds you well as we meet the middle of the year.  This time of year provides us a beautiful opportunity to take a personal inventory so we can make some shifts and adjustments if needed as we move forward. Some questions that may be coming up for you right now may include things like: How has my year been so far? How do I feel about the themes and cycles that I’ve been moving through this year? What kinds of things would I like to increase moving into this next 6 months? What kinds of things would I like to release in the next 6 months? This opportunity to reflect and adjust is a gift we give to ourselves. This process is not something to be nervous about but rather something that can offer support, insight, and positive changes.

One of the biggest themes that I’ve seen coming up for people recently is a sense of overwhelm, challenges in focusing on tasks or goals, and a deep calling to clean out things that have run their course. At first glance these may not seem related to one another, but the truth is they are deeply connected. Sometimes, when these themes start showing up, it’s a message for us to take a look at what areas of our life could use some simplicity and some streamlining. If you’ve ever walked into a home that’s filled with things that are out of place and chaotic, you probably remember the impact it made on your physical body and your mental state immediately. You may have noticed that you felt the need to get out of there as quickly as possible because it created a lot of stress and overwhelm for you. Our environment whether physically or the circle of people we interact with on a regular basis contributes to our overall health and wellbeing. Sometimes, without realizing it, things begin to tuck into the corners of our homes, work spaces, and vehicles creating and contributing to feelings of overwhelm, lack of focus, and a feeling that something needs to change. Sometimes these “things” are old ways of living and even some relationships that have run their course. The good news is that when we realize this theme is showing up for us, we have the ability to make some simple but significant changes so we can make space to move forward.

I’ve included an exercise below that can support you in taking an inventory of how things are going for you right now so you will have a clear picture of what you’re being guided to simplify and streamline this month. There are no wrong answers here and no one is going to ask you to share what you write down, so please give yourself permission to let your answers move through you organically. You may want to take a couple of deep breaths, turn off notifications on your device, and when you feel ready, you can move through the exercise. (You can come back to this at any time you choose if you feel guided to work through it again.)

  • If I had to choose one word to describe my year this far it would be__________________.

  • My overall energy level this year has been_______________________.

  • I’ve spent most of my free time this year doing ____________________________.

  • I’ve made progress on some of the things that were on my list for 2023, including __________________________________.

  • I’m still working on these things on my list for 2023 ________________________________.

  • Which area of my life needs to be simplified right now?

  • Which area of my life needs to be nurtured right now?

  • Which area of my life do I need to ask for help or support to move forward right now?

  • Which word do I want to choose as a theme for the remainder of 2023?

Okay, great job! I hope this helped you to gain some insight into the places and spaces where you’re personally being guided to make some shifts and changes. Remember that any and all change makes an impact in the way that you feel and move through your world.

You may find that some of the changes you’re being guided to make you can do by yourself while others may require help from someone else. I encourage you to start with a seemingly small action and allow the momentum to move you forward. You’ll notice that as you address the areas that need attention in your life, you’ll feel happier, healthier, and more at peace. If you need support, please ask for help. You can ask for help from a loved one, a friend, or a professional support person.

I’ve included a few areas that may support you as you move forward this month. Please know this is not an end all be all list but simply a jumping off place for you to get inspired. Please feel free to create your own ideas and ways to simplify and streamline.

  • Clean out your closets, pantry, cupboards, or other storage spaces.

  • Let go of things that are broken, ill fitting, stained, or damaged.

  • Put things away where they belong.

  • Put some space between yourself and challenging people in your life to the best of your ability.

  • Say yes to things and people that are uplifting and positive for you.

  • Make your priorities a priority in your day, even if only for 15 minutes.

  • Move your body in ways that feel good to, you even if only for 15 minutes.

  • Place helpful items and things you enjoy where you can enjoy and use them easily.

  • Ask for help and support when you need it.

  • Take good care of yourself and treat yourself with tender loving care.

I hope this has helped you gain some insight into how you’re being guided to move into this next half of the year. I look forward to hearing about the shifts and streamlining you’re doing to help you get back into the flow of your year. I am here for you if you feel guided to work with me this month whether through an intuitive session, energy treatment, or a coaching session.

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!
With love and gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

Cool, Calm, and Collected

Hello, I hope this finds you well as we move into May.

One of the biggest themes that has been coming through lately has been about finding ways to reduce stress and increase calm and gentility. Have you been noticing this theme showing up in your day to day life too? If so, you’re not alone; you’re not imagining it, and it’s not just you. This is a theme that I’m finding across the board for people, even people who traditionally have been able to consistently manage their stress levels. Stress has in many ways become a buzz word in our modern culture and can sometimes be used as a catch all for many life scenarios that we may be experiencing. However, that being said, I am finding this increase in stress to be a prescient theme right now and wanted to share some ways that you can reduce your stress as we move through this theme together.

As a highly sensitive person, sometimes an increase in stress, tension, or feelings of overwhelm can feel magnified. When you use techniques to support an increase of calm and comfort as a highly sensitive person, you can experience those results more quickly and on a deep or palpable level. As you integrate practices that you enjoy on a consistent basis, you’ll find that you’re more easily able to move through times of increased stress while also maintaining a level of peace, happiness, and calm. You’ll also notice that you feel more like yourself and that you’re able to find and maintain your balance. Does that mean that you won’t have some days that are tough? No, however it will allow you to move through those bumpy days a little bit easier while also increasing your good days.

One of the biggest things to remember here is that there is no one way or right way to do this work. There are only the ways that are right for you and those may change from day to day. Choosing to try a few things that you feel attracted to naturally will be a great place to start so you can find the ways or methods that work best for you. Finding what works best for you is the “right way” for you. Again, you can choose to change things up at any time you choose based on your needs and situation.

Please know this is not a be all end all list, think of this as inspiration and please add to this list with activities that work well for you. If there’s things on this list that are a fit for you great, give them a try and see how you feel. If there are things that aren’t a fit, great, let those go. Please feel free to combine techniques and make them your own. This is meant to be a support system for you so you get to decide how to work with the suggestions below so they best honor you and your life.

  • Sleep
Quality sleep is important for our overall health and well being. Making time for sleep is imperative especially when you’re experiencing increased stress. If you’re having sleep disturbances, check to make sure you aren’t being exposed to blue light before and during your sleep. Even if you enjoy falling asleep with your device on, it will prevent you from experiencing REM sleep and can interfere with serotonin and melatonin which we need. If you aren’t getting enough sleep at night, you may be guided to nap during the day, and even 30 minutes can make a positive impact. Going to sleep earlier, creating a relaxing space for sleep, and removing technology from your sleeping space can support you in experiencing quality sleep.

  • Movement
Any movement that you enjoy will allow your body to decompress from the stress that may be holding space within you. Going for a walk, riding your bike, going for a swim or any kind of movement you enjoy will help you reduce and manage your stress levels. Movement also helps your body get into a moving meditation which allows you to receive secondary benefits at the same time.

  • Sunshine
Getting outside into the sunshine even if you have to bundle up is very important. In addition to vitamin D, full spectrum sunlight helps to produce and regulate melatonin and serotonin which we need. Sunshine also helps us to increase energy, just think about the solar panels supporting the grid. We benefit from solar power too. You don’t need to overexpose yourself to the sun to receive its benefits.

  • Gentle Foods and Beverages
As the weather begins to warm up you may notice your body naturally gravitating toward lighter foods like salads, soups, smoothies, and juices just to name a few. When we’re experiencing stress, it can be easy to reach for things that can actually make us feel worse like processed foods and snacks. The more you can fuel your body with gentle foods and beverages, the easier it will be for your body to maintain a strong immune system which is taxed when exposed to prolonged stress.

  • Hydration
You may notice that stress impacts your hydration. If you notice you’re feeling parched, you may want to increase your water intake to help your body stay hydrated. There is no need to increase your hydration to the point of rinsing out your electrolytes. Just pay attention to your body so you find the right amount of water for you each day. If your lips are chapped, your scalp, sinuses, and skin are dry, and/or you feel thirsty, increase your water.

  • Music
Listening to music can uplift and shift your mood and energy quickly. Listening to music in the background rather than tv or streaming services can help you to feel better while also uplifting the energy in your home while positively impacting the people in your home too. If you are a musician, playing and practicing your instrument/s will support you and your home in multiple ways.

  • Creativity
Participating in any creative outlet that you enjoy will help you to reduce your stress levels while also nurturing your love and enjoyment for the activity. Creativity also sparks inspiration and moves you into a moving meditation which are powerful secondary benefits. You will also have something to show for your time and you will notice that you feel more relaxed and at ease during and after your creative experience. You don’t have to spend a lot of time investing in creativity to receive the benefits. You may want take a little time to place your tools, projects, or accoutrements into an easily accessible place.

  • Meditation
Any kind of meditation will support you in reducing stress and increasing calm, clarity, focus, and gentility. Whether you prefer guided meditation, traditional styles of meditation and mindfulness, or moving meditation, you will receive benefits from that practice. If you aren’t sure where to start when it comes to mediation and mindfulness, I recommend guided meditation. You can find free guided meditations on YouTube or you can use things like the calm app. There are a lot of free resources out there for you and you’ll find the right method once you get started.

  • Reading Physical Books
Physical books will give you a break from screen time and allow you to slow down while also experiencing the tactile quality that comes with reading an actual book. You will also notice your nervous system begin to relax while you enjoy your book.

  • Increasing Quiet Time
Allowing yourself to be in a quiet state allows your body and mind to rest while simultaneously calming your nervous system. It can also allow issues or themes sitting under the surface to come up so they can clear. In a world of overstimulation this simple act of quiet time is powerful.

  • Cleaning Out Clutter/Cleaning Your Home
Whether it’s cleaning out your closet, cleaning your floors, or getting to that shred pile; you will feel a lightening of your physical and mental state by attending to your physical space. Stuff out of place has an impact on our environment and our health. If you need help with this, please consider reaching out for help. If you live with other people, ask for their help so you aren’t trying to do everything all by yourself. A peaceful home supports a peaceful life.

  • Avoiding Challenging or Upsetting News Stories
It’s important to be informed and aware of what’s happening, however being inundated with bad news and negativity isn’t helpful or necessary. Reducing your exposure to upsetting news stories and social media feeds that make you feel drained or upset is important. Set aside a predetermined amount of time for information and then turn it off and move onto something else.

  • Avoiding or Reducing Challenging or Upsetting People/Dynamics
To the best of your ability, saying no to people and dynamics which are upsetting, hurtful, and draining for you is important. It’s important to guard your time and energy from those who aren’t helpful or supportive for you. It’s okay and often necessary to say no to people and situations that make you feel worse after engaging. Saying no to the best of your ability allows you to say yes to taking good care of yourself and your quality of life.

As you read through this list, you’ll notice that some of the categories can be grouped together for win wins; and in some cases: win, win, win. Yes, those groupings are a great way in increase your calm, comfort, and gentility all at once and yes, they count. For example, if you feel guided to read a physical book, you’ll be simultaneously reducing screen time, and increasing quiet time too. Please give yourself permission to enjoy the combinations that speak to you and make them your own. You don’t have to spend a lot of time doing these things, a little bit goes a long way in supporting your overall stress levels and well being. Carving out 10 minutes a day will have a significant impact on your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being. Some days you may be able to do more than 10 minutes which is wonderful but start with 10 and notice how you feel. Some of the activities like clearing out clutter or cleaning may take more than 10 minutes but their impact on you and the people who live in your home will be significant and well worth your time and effort.

I hope this will inspire you to know that you’re not alone and you can make simple but significant shifts in your daily life to support you in feeling more peaceful, grounded, and like your true self. I know you can do it, and every step counts. I’m joining you in this process as we move through these intense times together.

If you feel guided to work with me, I’m here for you.
As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, right to you.

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Here Comes the Sun

Hello, I hope this finds you well as we welcome April!

It’s finally Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere and even though there’s a lot of cold weather still happening for so many, the promise of warmer weather, sunshine, and new beginnings are here. I’m writing to you today from my home where it’s raining and cold but my tulips and violas are coming up and bringing with them a lot of joy, at least they’re bringing a lot of joy to me anyway. I think this is such a perfect analogy for this month and this time of the year. Even if things feel like they’re not shifting or maybe it feels like they aren’t shifting fast enough; when you take a look around you, you’ll see signs and messages letting you know that the shift is happening.

The beginning of Spring brings more light and length to our days and we find little markers here are there letting us know that the new season is upon us. You may notice that you’re beginning to have more energy, or that you’re feeling guided to get going on things that you’ve been meaning to do, or that you feel inspired to start something brand new. This is also a great time to dig into home projects whether inside or outside. You may feel that there’s almost an alarm clock ringing for you imploring you to begin some Spring cleaning. You may find yourself watching organization videos, or looking at home inspo photos to see what you’d like to incorporate into your own space. Maybe you’re feeling guided to start a garden this year, even if it’s a small potted garden on your patio. Maybe you’re being guided to increase your movement and you feel excited to try a new practice or go back to something you’ve previously enjoyed. All of these stirrings that happen at this time help us to re-set our homes and simultaneously help us to re-set our wellbeing. This is also a great time to re-set our goals or intentions for the year.

Moving into the beginning of Spring allows us to move with the energy in a really beautiful way. If you think of Winter as a season of being indoors and a time of rest, you can think of this first part of Spring as a time where we’re being guided to make shifts but also to take breaks. We may have days where we feel really inspired and energized and other days where we feel guided to rest and take it easy. We see this reflected in the seasonal changes too, rainy days and sunshine: cold days and warmer days. It’s like we’re being given this beautiful opportunity to move into this new season with built in structures for balance. Due to our modern lives and the demands that we’re all managing each day, it’s so nice to have an opportunity to practice balance as we start this new season.

Today, on this first day of April, I invite you to spend a little time tuning into the stirrings that you’re feeling or noticing within yourself right now. Are you being called to anything new? Do you feel guided to return to something that has been shelved for a better time, perhaps now? Do you notice or see any solutions to help you streamline any areas of your life? Do you know that it’s time to clear away some things, issues, or situations that are ready to be released? Are there things you want to bring into your life right now? Perhaps you’re longing for more joy, fun, and opportunities to spend time with people you love. Your answers to these important questions are your personal messages about how to move through this time and the beginning of this new season. You may share some similar experiences with other people in your circle which is fantastic because you can support each other during this time. You may also have some aspects that are just yours and that’s okay too. The messages, stirrings, and divine guidance that you’re receiving right now creates the personalized recipe for your needs. The more you can pay attention to the stirrings of your soul the more you’ll be able to nurture and cultivate the aspects of this season that are blossoming for you.

My wish for you this month is that you will allow yourself to honor the messages and wisdom you’re receiving while also enjoying this new season and the new opportunities it brings.

I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you!

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

Making Space for Grace

Happy November!

I hope this finds you well as we move into a new month and deeper into this season. For many people this month begins a kick off to holiday gatherings, festivities focused on food, traditions, a change in weather, and a time change on November 6th. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the days become shorter, the nights become longer, and the weather keeps us reaching for warm blankets, slippers, and maybe a cup of hot tea. During this time, we’re being given an opportunity to spend more time inside, to turn inward, to take care of ourselves, and to slow down.

So many people have been experiencing feelings of being burned out, exhausted, and in a lot of ways overwhelmed. Maybe you’ve been experiencing some of these things too. With so much going on around the world, it can be really challenging as a highly sensitive person to manage your personal calling to help where you can while also honoring yourself and taking care of your own energy. Sometimes it can feel like our personal contributions aren’t enough which can weigh on us; however, every action, no matter how seemingly small does impact others and does make a difference. It’s important to take good care of yourself as well as supporting or offering help where you’re guided. Sometimes I find that highly sensitive people (like yourself) can struggle with healer or helper burnout because they don’t realize the signs that their body is giving them to help them rest or recover from all of the activities they’ve said yes to without taking a break in between. Becoming comfortable with slowing down and making space for your own needs is very important and will allow you to have more energy and more bandwidth so you can help in the areas that are calling to you, without taking a tole on you or your health.

This month is bringing in a deep calling to slow down and to take more time for genuine rest. This is a beautiful time to move with the natural shift that’s happening so you can take good care of yourself and your loved ones while also making space for grace. You may find that you want to focus on a few core things throughout your day and that things that were on your to do list a few months ago seem less prescient for you. This isn’t something to fret over, it’s part of this energy helping us to clear the decks and get back to the basics or fundamentals of taking good care of ourselves. It doesn’t mean that those other things aren’t important to you, it just means that they’re taking a back seat to what is important for you right now.

You may want to take a few minutes to think about or feel out what aspects of grace you’re being asked to gift yourself this month. Maybe you need more down time, maybe you need more rest or better quality sleep, maybe you need more gentle foods, maybe you need more joy, maybe you need gentle energy to help sooth your nervous system, maybe you need_________________. There are no right or wrong answers, only the answers that are right for you. As you allow yourself to hear, feel, see, or know the answers that are showing up for you, you’ll more easily be able to align with your personal recipe for support, self care, and grace this month. Slowing down is a gift that we give to ourselves and to the people in our lives that we love. This will allow you to feel more like yourself and to have more energy, excitement, and enthusiasm when you’re guided to say yes to an activity or invitation. Most importantly, this time allows for a deep nurturing and a time to truly slow down and honor what is right for you.

I’m wishing you a very gentle and restorative month filled with gentle people and experiences. I’m also wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving if you’re celebrating this month.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, right to you!

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

We Need One Another | Especially as Highly Sensitive Souls

Hi, I hope this finds you well as we arrive in August.
I don’t know about you, but this summer feels like it’s moving really quickly for me, especially since we’re now officially in August. I hope that your summer has been good to you so far and that you’ve been able to take some down time here and there for some gentle self care, rest, relaxation, and fun.

One of the big themes that has been showing up for me lately has been about the importance of personal connections. As a highly sensitive person, it can be easy to settle into a quiet gentle space in our personal lives to help off set some of the intensity of daily life. Sensitive souls often feel guided to take a lot of down time or alone time to reset and refill their energy stores. Sensitive souls often need more recharge time than other people and need to find ways to decompress and come back to center as part of their daily routine. Cultivating this balance of outward energy and restorative self care is a dance that sensitive souls do daily throughout their lives. One of the challenges is to find that balance for themselves which allows them to have the downtime they need without pulling away from personal connections in a way that can lead to isolation.

Over the last two and a half years with varying degrees of restrictions and in person connections changing from week to week and from county to county this experience of cultivating balance has become even more challenging for people. There almost seems to be another layer of needing or craving connection showing up for people right now; even after mastering all the zoom meetings, and all the changes we’ve been through, this message about connection is coming through in a big way. Maybe you’re noticing this theme showing up in your life right now too. Maybe you notice that you’re being called to be the gentle kind listener to people while you’re in the grocery store who come up to you and want to tell you something about their personal life. Maybe you’re being called to be the person to offer a kind hello, or a smile, or a compliment to someone as you walk in the park. Maybe you’re being called to tell someone that you appreciate their help while looking into their eyes and making a genuine connection with them. Maybe you’re being called to practice a random act of kindness for a stranger or for a friend or for a family member.

With this theme of personal connection coming through so strongly right now, I want to gently remind you that as a sensitive soul it’s important to remember that your needs are important too. It often feels more natural for sensitive people to raise their hands to help others. It can sometimes feel awkward or out of the comfort zone to ask for support or to let people know that you need something. Sometimes sensitive people can intuitively feel that their circle of support is going through a lot and they don’t want to add anything else to their plates so they don’t let people know what they need. Sometimes, it feels easier to pull inward to recharge since it’s a daily support system we use already. However, it’s also important to allow yourself to receive support and connections too. While many, not all, but many sensitive souls consider themselves to be introverted and maybe have small circles of friends, or maybe even consider themselves to be loners; we all still need some personal connections.

We need one another.

People need people; it’s part of our core support system, we need connections.
We can regularly practice all the things that help us within our lives whether that be working toward a new goal, learning a new skill, meditation, yoga, artistic endeavors, or _______________________. But, even with all the things that are supportive and nurturing to us and help to bring a breadth of support and joy into our lives, we still need one another. You matter and it’s important to let people know what you need, even if it’s just a phone call or meeting up for a cup of tea. You don’t have to wait for something really big to happen to feel justified in letting someone know you could use some support or just to spend some time with someone you care about.

In the same way that you would be there for someone that you care about, please know that people in your circle feel the same way about you. Let people be there for you in the same way that you are there for them. If you feel like you want or need some gentle people to come into your circle, please know that you can ask for those souls to be brought into your world. You’ll know them by their gentle energy, kind heart, and sensitive souls.

At this time where this deep calling for personal connections is making itself known again; please give yourself permission to balance your call to help others with allowing others to help you too. You’re not alone. We’re all in this together, and we need one another.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, right to you!

With deepest love and gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

Schools Out for Summer: Tapping into the Magic of the Season

Hello, I hope this finds you well as we welcome July.

It feels like it’s been so long since we last connected, I don’t know about you but June felt like a really long month this year. We’ve officially arrived to summer here in the Northern hemisphere even though it’s been pretty hot in my little corner of the world for a while now.

When I think about summer I often think about summers as a child and how exciting it was to have time off school, long summer nights, and lots of fun with friends and family. As a grown up, summer can sometimes feel a bit different with most of us working during this time and maybe some extra responsibilities too especially if you have little ones at home. I was thinking about ways to keep that whimsical summer energy woven into the season even with the responsibilities of being an adult. While there are lots of ways to do this, I was thinking that it could be helpful to think about a few of the seemingly simple stand out memories or favorites that you hold dear. You may be able to find a common theme for yourself when you do this. You may find there’s favorite foods you enjoy making because they represent summer to you. Maybe you like to do certain activities like making smores in the back yard because you have fond memories of doing that as a child. Maybe you really look forward to setting up an outdoor movie night with popcorn and other favorite snacks. Maybe for you it’s all about the swimming or maybe you’re already creating piles of summer reading books. The options are endless, it really just matters what stands out to you when you personally think about the energy of summer.

Taking a little time to find the theme or themes that are a fit for you can help you to bring that experience into your summer this year. You don’t need to pack every day with activities or spend lots of time away to enjoy the experience of summer. By choosing your theme and setting the intention to bring your personal brand of summer into your season this year, you will find that it allows you to open the door to the things that feel like summer for you. It can also add a little excitement, whimsy, and magic to your season too. You may find it helps you to tap into that childlike joy you had when you thought about an entire season of time off from school to play and have fun.

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself to help you find a theme that feels like a fit for you this summer. You may want to write down your answers if you feel guided and you can come back to the exercise at any time you choose. There are no wrong answers, so you can just relax and have fun with this process.

Take a couple of deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Good, letting go of any tension, tightness, or stress that you may feel holding space inside your body. Go ahead and take another breath, and let go of any to do lists, or other things that may be holding space around you; knowing that you can go back to them when you’re finished.

  • When I think about my 3 favorite summers; these are the summers that come to mind:_____________________________________________________________

  • Why do these summers stand out as favorites for me? __________________________________

  • How did these experiences make me feel? ___________________________________________

  • Were there similar aspects to these summers or are they special because they are each unique? ___________________________________________________________________________

  • Who was with me during these favorite summers? ______________________________________

  • What kinds of activities did I do?_______________________________________________________

  • What were some stand out moments or aspects that felt special to me? ______________________________________________________________________________

  • How would I describe these experiences of my favorite summers? ____________________________

  • What aspects or themes stand out when I look back over those summers? ______________________________________________________________________________

  • If I had to choose 3 words to describe my favorite summers, what would they be? ______________________________________________________________________________

  • How do these words make me feel? ____________________________________________________

  • How can I incorporate these words or themes into my summer season this year? __________________________________________________________________________

  • When I think about using these themes as an intention for this summer, I feel______________________________________________________.

  • My personal theme for the summer of 2022, is the season of _____________________________________.

Great job, now you can take a moment to just sit with any emotions and memories that you’re experiencing around this or you can continue to write down any ideas or inspiration this created for you; whatever feels right for you.

I hope this will help to bring a little spark of excitement, joy, and even some childlike wonder to your new season this year. In any ways that feel like a fit for you I hope that you will enjoy celebrating the themes and aspects of the season that resonate for you and yours this summer.

I look forward to participating in some of my favorite summer activities too; things like riding bikes, early morning hikes, making popsicles, more canning, swimming, and yes, getting through some of my piles of summer reading books. I would love to hear about your personal theme for the season if you feel guided to share it with me. I’m wishing you a wonderful summer!

I’m sending you lots of love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you!

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

A Shift In Season | A Shift Within You

Happy June!
I hope this finds you well as we round the corner on the middle of the year. I hope that this retrograde cycle has been gentle to you and has given you some time to rest, reflect, and reprioritize. We have two more days of this cycle plus the little after period which is sometimes called the shadow, haze, or the whip; but we’re almost there.  This month also brings us into a new season; in the Northern Hemisphere we’re moving into summer on June 21st and will experience the longest day of the year.

As we move through this remaining retrograde energy and closer to the summer solstice you may notice that you have an increase in your personal energy and enthusiasm. You may also notice that projects, plans, and priorities that felt stalled, slowed, or stunted begin to pick up traction for you and gain momentum. This is an exciting experience because you can almost feel a surge of energy within you that gets you excited to get going on the things that have been on your list. One of the things that can show up for people at this time is analysis paralysis. This feeling of not knowing which action to take because you aren’t sure which thing you should start with or which task is the most prescient for you. While knowing that something needs to come first, the sensitive soul (like yourself) can sometimes get bogged down with not making the wrong choice. If this resonates with you, take a breath…you’re not alone. Sometimes this will show up as needing to over research what needs to be done, other times it shows up as distractions keeping you from sitting down and making a choice, and sometimes it can show up as good old fashioned fear or nervousness. All of these experiences are natural and nothing to feel bad about.

The great news is that you can move through this experience and begin taking action on your priorities. There’s no one way to do this, it’s a personal process for everyone. However, often the project that is most important to you is the one that has been on your list the longest or that you hold close to your heart. It can be something seemingly small or big; it’s not about what it looks like to someone else, only how it measures up for you. As you begin by acknowledging what that project is for you, you can begin moving forward. You may notice that by just saying it out loud or in your journal you’ll feel a wave of relief and for some people even a decompression from within and around their body.

Here's some things to ask yourself to help you get clear on what may be a great starting place for you right now. There are no wrong answers here and no one is going to see what your write and no one is going to ask you to tell them what you wrote down for your answers.

Take a moment to breathe, and if you feel guided to write your answers down, great but you don’t have to do that. You can come back to this exercise anytime you choose.

  • When you think about goals or dreams you have for yourself this year, where do you notice any pressure or energy holding space within your body? _______________________

  • How has your progress been going so far this year in the direction of your goals or dreams for 2022? ____________________________

  • What actions have moved you forward and worked out well for you this year? ______________________________

  • What did you notice about the situations as things came together, worked out, or made forward motion? _______________________

  • How did you feel? ____________________________

  • Which things, if any seem to have been stalled or gone off course a bit? _________________________________________

  • Are any of these items still on your list or have they been shelved? _________________________________

  • If so, why? __________________________________

  • How does this make you feel? _____________________________

  • If you could make a significant impact on one area, project, or dream on your list this year, which one would you choose? _______________________________________

  • Why? ___________________________________

  • How would this forward motion impact your life in 2022? ______________________________________

  • How would it impact you on a personal level? ________________________________

  • What kinds of feelings would you attribute to this experience? ___________________________

  • Take a moment to visualize yourself experiencing this achievement…good. How do you feel when you visualize yourself taking action on your dream, goal, or project? ________________________________________

  • Take a breath and focus on where you feel any pressure or energy holding space within your body. Where do you feel or see this energy holding space for you? ______________________________________________

  • Does it feel different than at the beginning of this exercise? _________

  • If yes, how? ________________________________________________

  • Ask yourself: What is one action step I can take now to begin making forward motion on my dream, goal, or project ________________________________________

  • Do I need to contact anyone to receive help or support to take this first step? ___________________________________

  • Can I begin today with the resources that I have around me right now? _________________________

  • Can I invest 15-20 minutes toward the realization of my goal, today? _____________

  • What can I do today to move forward? ___________________________________

Okay, great job!
You may notice that you feel a bit of an energy release just from moving through this exercise. Taking a few moments to connect with our own higher self about what’s important to us can help us to get clarity while also releasing stored tension or stress in the body we may not realize is there.

Hopefully this also helped you to focus in on an area that is really meaningful to you right now and gave you some insight on how to begin moving forward in the ways that are right for you. Sometimes I think that we believe we have to do all the steps all at once when we’re starting something new and it can feel overwhelming, especially as highly sensitive souls. The truth is that we only need to start with one step, even if it feels seemingly small, it gets us moving forward and begins to create traction for us.

Highly sensitive people (like yourself) can sometimes experience elements of perfectionism which can exacerbate feelings of analysis paralysis. Take a breath if this resonates for you. If you notice this showing up or any style of delay tactics, simply acknowledge it, breathe, and when you feel ready continue taking action on that first step. The magical aspects of getting started on something is that once you take action on the first step, you’ll be given the next step and so on. You only have to focus on doing one thing at a time. If you feel like you need a little refocus, or some insight into the next step, you can return to this exercise if you feel guided. If you need support or help from someone else, you’ll be guided to reach out for help.

As we move into this new month, new season, and new surge of energy I hope you find yourself enjoying forward motion and momentum with the things that are important to you. Just focus on one thing and go at your own pace. It’s not a race or a competition, and forward motion is still forward motion even if it seems like 15-20 minutes here and there isn’t a lot; I promise you, it adds up quickly.

I hope that you’re able to make some time for joy this month too. Leaning into things that bring you joy also fills your well, allowing you to make progress on your dreams and goals.

I’m wishing you a wonderful new month and I look forward to working with you if you feel guided to schedule a session with me.

This month, in between work I’ll be making jams, jellies, sauces, mustards, and all the things as I eagerly await the fruit season all year and look forward to spending some time in the kitchen canning my little heart out. All you fellow canners out there, I see you!

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you!
With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Soothe. Soften. Support. Setting Yourself Up for Success

Happy May!
I hope this finds you well as we move into a new month and into this new energy that’s already showing up in little ways. You may already feel these shifts happening as we approach the Mercury Retrograde beginning on the 10th. This retrograde will be with us through the entirety of the month and into the first two days of June.

I don’t like to focus on this time of year as something to be afraid of but I do like to prepare myself for the bumps that may come up during this time so that I can be set up for success to the best of my ability. As a highly sensitive person, (like yourself) I’ve found some common themes and experiences that can make themselves known during this time, almost like a cycle or pattern. I wanted to share some of the common symptoms I’ve found for myself as well as for others. I hope this will help to offer you some additional support so you can create a system that works for you as we move through this time together.

When we think about the Mercury Retrograde, it can be easy to get nervous about things like technology, communication, and potential blips or bumps in projects or travel. These are natural feelings as this cycle can impact these areas of our lives. There are often opportunities to focus on what I call the Re words as well, things like: review, revisit, restore, renew, replenish, rest, and relaxation. When we cultivate or create ways to lean into gentle support systems during this time, it can help to make it easier to move through this retrograde cycle.

I’ve also found some common physical symptoms that show up for myself and for other highly sensitive people. These may be things that you’ve experienced as well or maybe something that shows up for someone you love. Highly sensitive people can experience these physical symptoms and often think it’s just something they are experiencing, or that it’s connected to something else and they just can’t quite put their finger on it but they know something is out of balance. These symptoms can sometimes receive less coverage because not everyone experiences them during a retrograde cycle.

Symptoms can include but are not limited to:

  • Bloating

  • Tenderness in joints

  • Increased skin sensitivity

  • Feeling of cloudiness in thinking or being in a bit of a fog

  • Exhaustion or Lethargy

  • Low grade fever

  • Low grade headache

  • Feeling parched and needing more water than usual

  • Sensitivity to foods and beverages, potential upset stomach even to foods and drinks you normally enjoy

  • Food cravings for sugar, salt, and carbohydrates

  • Sleep Challenges including insomnia and/or dream disturbances

  • Needing more sleep than usual; including needing naps even if you aren’t someone who usually naps

  • Increased emotional sensitivity

  • Increased frustration or irritability

  • Repeating thought loops

  • Increased overwhelm in large groups or environments (grocery store etc.)

  • Feeling drained when in social situations

  • Increased sensitivity to lighting and noise

  • Increased or heightened spiritual gifts and or connection with guides, angels, and departed loved ones

  • Increased desire for quiet, calm, gentle environments and activities

  • Increased desire to wear soft, comfortable, and loose fitting clothing

  • Increased focus on self care, comfort, and self soothing

These are some of the symptoms that can show up for highly sensitive people. You may experience some or none of these symptoms but it can help to know that these symptoms are very real so that you can identify them if they show up. This can also help you to create a support system for yourself or someone you love.

The great news is that knowing what to expect allows us to prepare so we can experience a smoother and gentler retrograde cycle. There are some really easy yet impactful things that we can do to help make this time as supportive as possible. I’ve included some ideas for you below; by no means is this a be all end all list. Please use this as an inspiration so you can create and cultivate the personal support that is best for you and your loved ones.

  • Place large leafed plant near the bed to help increase oxygen and clear you and your bedroom while you sleep

  • Use a humidifier to increase oxygen while also soothing sensitive skin, scalp, and sinuses

  • Use dimmers or gentle golden or low lighting. (Edison bulbs create a gentle golden glow and can be found at big box stores and online outlets.)

  • Use a sound machine or gentle music to help soothe and calm the nervous system

  • Sage or Smudge your home to clear any heavy or dense energies

  • Edit or clear spaces near your bed so you can more easily rest

  • Set out art supplies or other creative outlets so you can easily reach them

  • Set out workout mats, tennis shoes, and workout equipment so you can easily reach them

  • If you plan to work on your garden or plant a garden, find out what you’ll need so it will be easier to begin your garden project

  • Treat yourself to your favorite tea, bath supplies, or cozy blanket

  • Take a little time to back up your computer and other devices

  • Have a little cash on hand in case there are any tech issues at the grocery store

  • Have a little bit of extra food and water on hand in case you feel guided to avoid crowds and stay home due to your sensitivity level on any particular day

  • Say no to extra demands on your personal time and energy to the best of your ability

  • Make extra time for rest, quiet, and comfort

  • Make time for meditation or spiritual practice

  • Make time for reading for pleasure, listening to or playing music, or journaling

  • Lean into activities that feel gentle to you; this can include watching your favorite movie while wearing comfy jammies.

  • Take breaks throughout the day even if only for 3-5 minutes to get up and walk around and clear from your work and devices.

  • Create room for more downtime and rest when and where you can to honor your body’s needs to the best of your ability

  • Breathe, and go at your own pace

  • Remember to ask for help if you need it

And…anything else that feels like a fit for you and that will support you in experiencing a more gentle and smooth retrograde cycle this month. I hope this helps to inspire and support you as we move through this time together. Remember, you don’t have to do all the things all the time, just do what feels right for you on any particular day and please give yourself grace. You’re doing amazing, and you’re not alone.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you.
With all my love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Preparing to Paddle Out | Watching and Readying for your Wave

Happy March…can you feel it? The waves of change are up on us.
Maybe you can physically feel the energy rising up inside of you and maybe you can see it all around you; but no matter how it’s showing up for you, the energy is officially shifting. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re on the cusp of Spring, new beginnings, and a surge of new energy. You may notice that you’re beginning to feel this building of strength, anticipation, and forward motion with you more and more each day. Maybe your energy and enthusiasm are beginning to rise and you’re being guided to line up some of the plans that have been on your list. This is a powerful time to take a deeper dive into what those priorities are for you and to get ready to paddle out so that you can ride your wave.

Have you ever watched (or maybe you’ve experienced this yourself) people paddling out into the water to catch the wave that is right for them? There’s a clear pattern of preparing, patiently waiting, allowing the timing to be right, and then giving themselves permission to go for it when their wave lines up for them, their personal timing, and skill set. This series of preparation and readiness is something we can apply within our own lives right now too. You don’t have to live near the sea in order to ride the waves of life in a way that supports, soothes, and serves your path, calling, or life purpose.

During this month while we’re continuing to foster our own energy, personal growth, and readiness we can begin to prepare for the wave we’ve been waiting for and working toward riding. This is an exciting time; one that can be a catalyst for forward motion and fun. Sometimes it feels like we have to choose either forward motion or fun, and sometimes that’s true; however, there are ways that we can increase fun, joy, and happiness even when we’re moving toward a goal or moment we’ve been working toward for some time. Each aspect is important, worthwhile, and a contribution to our overall experience.

So, this month as you’re noticing your own shifts, alignments, and opportunities opening up for you, I invite you to take a little time to prioritize your planning and playfulness. Tune into your own messages, divine timing, and inner knowing of what is right for you right now so you can ready yourself to paddle out to catch your wave. Your wave is the one that feels and looks like yours; it’s the wave you’ve been waiting for, the wave that you’ve been working toward, and the one that you’re ready to ride into this next phase of your life. This one is taking you to the next part of your year and into this new energy of fresh starts, new beginnings, and new possibilities. Remember you don’t have to force anything to happen nor do you have to go against your own grain. Seemingly small yet significant shifts lead to big positive change. Focusing on one or two things that you can do right now, today, will help to align you with this shift that is happening all around us and within us.

It’s happening within you…right now, right this very moment.
You’re ready.

  • Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth and ask yourself:

  • “What action can I take today to bring me closer to my goal, dream, or calling?”

Give yourself permission to hear, see, feel, or know your answer; and then give yourself permission to go for it.

There’s no right or wrong here. Your message may look similar to someone else you know or it may be something completely unique for you. Your answer is the one that matters, and you get to decide how to integrate your messages into your life right now. Take a minute to write down what’s coming through for you and then grab your board and get into the water; your wave is waiting for you.

I’ve included some ideas that may help you to move through this time, but please feel free to adjust them, personalize, them, and create your own list. This is just a starting place to give you some ideas and inspiration to get going.

Lighten Your Load

  • If there are things that have been weighing you down, this is a great time to let them go. This can be physical items that you clear out of your closets, pantry, garage, or other nooks where things tend to collect. Donate, gift, and release the things that you’re finished with as a way to create and open up space within and around you. You may notice that you physically feel lighter after this clearing which helps to clear any clutter from your thinking space as well. If there are other things weighing you down, including ways of living, relationships, or old dynamics that have come full circle, it may be time to release those as well.

Shift Your Space

  • Sometimes simply moving things around in your home, on your desk, or outside can help you shift the energy in your space. This can help to shake things up and even create a shift in perspective for you and anyone else who lives with you.

Deep Breaths

  • Are you holding your breath throughout the day? Do you find your shoulders up around your ears around 3 pm? Do you find yourself taking mouth breaths? You may be holding your breath when you feel overwhelmed, under pressure, or in stressful situations. When you notice this happening, it’s okay, it’s not a judgement, your body is trying to give you signals that it would like some deep breaths and a little reset. Take a moment and do a few deep breaths and move your shoulders a bit so you can put your body back into a gentler state. You may also feel guided to start or resume a meditation practice which can be very beneficial for your overall health and wellness.

Ask for Help

  • When you feel like you need some insight, support, or additional hands on deck, please ask for help. Asking for help is a strength and not a weakness. You don’t have to do everything all by yourself all of the time. Ask people in your inner circle for support or reach out for professional support if you’re being guided to do so.

Listen to Your Inner Voice

  • Your inner voice is rooting for you. The real you is always on your side, in your corner and sounds and feels like love. You’ve been able to overcome all of the challenges in your life up to this point; and even if you’re venturing out on a brand new experience, keep going. Every step forward is still forward motion and you can do it. If you need help, insight, support, or expertise as you’re moving forward, ask for help. Remember you don’t have to do everything all by yourself all of the time.

I’m wishing you a wonderful month of new beginnings and new opportunities rising to greet you.
I’m sending you oceans of love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you.

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Easy DIY Sugar Scrub

You Will Need:

  • 1 Cup of Sugar

  • Oil of Choice
(Fractionated Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, and Apricot Oil are some great options.)

  • Essential Oils (Optional)
(Lavender, Frankincense, and Grapefruit are some great options.)

  • Bowl

  • Mason Jar or Tupperware style Container

How to Make Your Sugar Scrub:

  • In a mixing bowl add your sugar and oil of choice to combine.

  • Add a little bit of oil at a time so you create a consistency which feels almost like wet sand.

  • If you add a bit too much oil, you can just add a little more sugar.

  • If you want to add essential oils, simply add 7-10 drops of your favorite oil to your mixture and mix to combine.

  • Then, pour your sugar scrub into your Mason Jar or Tupperware style container

To Use:

  • Gently apply your scrub all over to exfoliate your skin.

  • The sugar will clear away anything ready to be released while the oil will polish and hydrate your skin.

  • Rinse the scrub off your skin, making sure that you get all of it, including from the bottoms of your feet.

  • After you’re finished, pat dry and enjoy your rejuvenated skin.

  • You may want to use your scrub in the bathtub because the bottom of your feet may be slippery from the oil. If you’re not a bathtub person, just be careful when using in the shower.

  • This also makes a great gift or a fun project to make with a friend. Enjoy!

The Magic of February: Tapping Into the Quickening

Happy February!
I hope this finds you well as we move into the shortest month of the year.
While it may be the smallest month, it brings with it new energies and one of my favorite things of the year, the quickening. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you may notice that little signs of the quickening begin showing up around you here and there. The quickening is that quiet burst of energy that begins to push through the soil, plants, and even us.

You may notice that you start to have an increased energy, enthusiasm, a burst of creativity, or desire to move forward on some new projects or goals that have been on your mind or on your list. Just like the crocus, hyacinth, and orchards start to make their presence known; you may find that you have a renewed sense of zeal for the new things blooming in your life.

While we’re still in the midst of winter, there’s a feeling that things are slowly but surely picking up speed as we gently move toward a new season. You may feel this push pull within you this month too; one day you may feel guided to go slow and the next day you may feel a pull toward taking action. This ebb and flow is one of the things that I love about this month because we’re in that in between space that allows us to tune into our natural rhythms while we prepare for the new season.

If you’ve been experiencing a slow start to some of your new year things, that’s okay. In fact, this is a powerful time to review some of the things on your list and reassess how they feel for you and it’s a great time to add, subtract, or adjust accordingly. Remember, you get to decide if something is a priority or if it’s being set to the side for whatever reason.

This is also a good time to invest a little time in self care, especially if you’re wanting to increase or reintegrate self care into your routine. There are 28 days in February this year which means that if you choose to focus on doing something for yourself each day this month, it will be a healthy habit that you can more easily honor all year long. Research shows that it takes 21 days to create a new healthy habit, so by the end of the month, it will feel natural for you to continue your practice.

Sometimes when people hear the term self care it can create a little sense of pressure or feel like it’s one more thing to add to your daily list of tasks. However, it doesn’t have to be something that takes a lot of time in your day and there’s no one way or right way to cultivate a self care practice. Your way may look like someone else’s or it may be something that is uniquely yours. The only thing that really matters is that it’s an action that is supportive for you.

Here's a few simple and quick practices that can help you get an idea of some things that resonate for you.

  • Morning Mantra or Focus for the Day

  • 5 Minute Morning Meditation

  • Filling your Diffuser

  • Listening to or Playing Music

  • Journaling

  • Coloring

  • Reading for Pleasure

  • Going for a Walk

  • Drinking Water (maybe with lemon, or mint)

  • Saying yes to an activity that feels uplifting or supportive to you

  • Saying no to things, people, or activities which feel heavy or draining to you

  • Affirmations

  • Going to Sleep Early

  • Asking for Help if You Need Help

  • Baking Some Cookies

  • Making Your Favorite Meal

  • Learning Something New

  • Planting Some Flowers or Herbs

  • Clearing Out a Closet, Pantry, or Dresser

  • Starting a New Project or Working on an Existing Project

  • ______________________________

These are just a few ideas to help you get started on cultivating self care in your own daily life this month. You can choose something that takes only a few minutes or something that takes a bit more time. Sometimes, I think we forget that drinking water, remembering to breathe, and taking down time are very important parts of taking good care of ourselves; and they definitely count as self care. Just like adding money into a piggy bank, it adds up quickly and you are 100% worth the investment.

As you begin your new month, I invite you to tune into your own rhythms each day and connect with this energy of the ebb and flow that’s happening right now. It’s such a magical time of the year and it goes by quickly which adds to the whimsical quality of February. I hope your month is filled with forward motion while also being balanced with things, people, and activities which feel soothing, supportive, and honor your self care.

I’d love to hear how you’re moving through the quickening and the ways that you’re taking good care of yourself this month. I’m planning on doing a little bit of garden preparations, baking, and some winter canning too.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny corner of the world right to you.
With Love and Gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Happy & Healthy Holidays for Highly Sensitive People

This month brings with it a noticeable change and you may even be able to feel the shift just from yesterday to today. This month begins and ends with celebratory themes with All saints Day today, All Souls Day and Day of the Dead tomorrow and if you live in the states, Thanksgiving celebrations toward the end of the month and the beginning of the holiday season. I know there are lots of different “official” kickoffs to the holiday season and maybe you count yesterday as the beginning of festivities; whether you’re a day after Thanksgiving person, a November 1st person, A Halloween person or somewhere in between, the time of festivities, family, and food are upon us.

If you’re experiencing a feeling of being in between shock that it’s November and also a feeling of wondering how it’s only November because 2021 has been surprisingly long; you’re not alone. It’s been a year that’s continued to offer us opportunities for growth; but we’re arriving toward the end now which can bring several different aspects and areas into play for many people, especially for highly sensitive souls. (Like yourself)

While this festive time of the year can bring a lot of fun, joy, and excitement; it can sometimes bring stress and challenges too. As a highly sensitive soul, you may need more support, self care, or recharge time than some of the other people in your circle. Knowing what areas may need extra attention as we move into this month, can help you enjoy more of the activities and experiences of this season while also honoring your natural rhythm.

Some of the main themes or areas that show up for highly sensitive people at this time of year include but aren’t limited to: Overwhelm, Boundaries, and Heightened Sensitivity. There are some simple ways that you can work with these areas which will allow you to experience the festivities and not feel like you’re just going through the motions but missing out on the actual fun or joy.

Overwhelm:

If you tend to be very organized, a self starter, someone who naturally focuses on solutions, getting all the things done and checked off the list, this could be an issue that shows up for you. It’s important to remember that it’s healthy and okay to say yes to the things that you want to do and no to the things that aren’t a fit this year. Saying yes to everything can lead to overwhelm, exhaustion, and even feelings of guilt. It’s better to leave a little breathing room in your schedule so you can have time and space to do some things that make this time of year special for you, even if that’s making popcorn, apple cider and watching your favorite movie while wearing cozy jammies.

If you have a hard time saying no, practice telling someone, “Let me get back to you after I check my schedule.”  Or “I wish I could make it, thank you for the invitation but my schedule is already full on that day.” Or, “Thank you for the invitation but as a family we’re choosing to stay home this year.” I promise you that you can do it, and people do understand. Choosing to take good care of yourself is not selfish and you’re not obligated to do all the things, all the time.

Boundaries:

You probably understand better than most people that your energy levels deplete more quickly in different situations, environments, and around certain people. Introverts, Empaths, and Highly Sensitive People need down time to recharge, renew, and rejuvenate daily. Just like your favorite device needs to recharge, so do you. When sensitive souls overstep their own boundaries by agreeing to be in places, environments, and around people that drain them for too long it can lead to burn out, exhaustion, and even other kinds of health challenges. This is not fun and it can be a challenge because like the overwhelm category above, it’s important that you say no to situations that over extend your energy reserves so that you can maintain a sense of balance.

Acknowledging any feelings of guilt, bargaining, or going against your own grain can help you to see those experiences as red flags or stop signs so you can instead choose to honor your boundaries, energy levels, and personal needs. This will help you to lean into activities that are restorative, nurturing, and allow you to refill your well so you feel like your real self while also taking care of your needs and maintain balance.

Heightened Sensitivity:

If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you’re experiencing less sunlight which can have a powerful impact on Highly Sensitive People. Maybe you’ve experienced varying levels of Seasonal Affective Disorder like so many others. You may feel guided to purchase a full spectrum light, or maybe you enjoy feeling heat on your skin so you enjoy hot baths, hot tubbing, steaming, or sauna to help warm up your body and help uplift your energy and mood.

Some people also experience increased sensitivity in their skin, and senses like sensitivity to lighting, sounds, even energy. You may find that you are drawn to your softest clothing, sheets, blankets, and socks at this time of year. You may need more golden or pink light instead of really bright overhead lighting, and you may notice that you want sounds and energies in your home to be gentler and less abrasive.

All of these experiences are things that can show up for highly sensitive people. You’re not imagining it, it is real, and you’re not the only one who’s going through this experience. The more that you can lean into the things that your body is needing, to the best of your ability of course, the gentler this time will be for you.

In addition to the physical aspects of heightened sensitivity, many people experience more of their natural spiritual gifts, activity, and connection to their guides, angels, and departed loved ones. This isn’t surprising to me at all, as we get quiet, comforted, and are more inwardly focused it can be easier to hear and connect with our spiritual gifts. You may notice this in your own life this month. If this is something that you enjoy, you may want to document it in a notebook or journal so you can look back at your experiences and see themes and messages showing up for you.

I hope that these support systems can be helpful for you this month during this festive and full season. These things don’t have to take a lot of time to implement in your daily life, even seemingly small things will have a big positive impact for you. The info graphic above is full of great ways to support each of the different areas which tend to show up for people right now, but especially for highly sensitive people. Lean into what you know is right for you even if it looks a little bit different than someone else, and let people know what you need and where your limit is so they can honor you the way that you honor the people you love.

I’m wishing you and yours a very happy month filled with abundance and I’m sending you so much love and gratitude from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you.

All my love,
Kristy~ xoxo
