Analog Summer

Happy July, I hope this finds you well as we officially move into the first full month of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s already really hot and into the triple digits here in my little corner of the world. I hope that you and yours are finding plenty of ways to enjoy the season while also staying cool.

When I was asking for a message for this month, the big message that I kept receiving was Analog Summer. Depending on how many summers you’ve experienced, this may be something that you’re very familiar with and in lots of ways what you initially think about when you think about summer. Maybe you think about swimming, or playing in the sprinklers, riding bikes, going for hikes, making a picnic, drinking lemonade and eating popsicles. The majority of summers gone by were experienced outside, sometimes including movies in the evening. Sometimes, it can feel like these whimsical summers are gone and instead filled with tablets, scrolling, texting, and streaming while indoors under artificial lighting for most of the season. While I completely understand and appreciate the modern blessing that is HVAC, there is definitely room for a blend of outside and inside activities.

This isn’t just about nostalgia; in fact, I saw how important these analog activities are for our nervous systems and for our overall wellness. Not only do analog activities allow us to create new neuro pathways, extend our attention spans, and even make space to learn something new; it allows us to decompress and regulate our systems. This definitely isn’t a message about avoiding everything connected to wifi, but more about balance. You can increase analog activities inside your home too while enjoying the comfort of the air conditioning. Things like board games, decks of cards, coloring books, puzzles, stitching or sewing projects, playing an instrument, trying a new recipe, or listening to albums, cd’s, or cassette tapes that you physically have to change. These physical or tactile activities support a shift in the way our body responds to the world around us; increasing calm, regulation, and personal peace. You don’t have to invest a lot of money in curating items for your analog summer. You probably have some of these things in your home right now, they are often relegated to the back of closets or to high shelves. If there are a few things you would like to add to your list, you can find great deals on these things at big box stores or you can have them delivered right to your front door. (See, balance.)

Another aspect that I saw when looking at this theme included the importance of integrating some of these skills or experiences early into the summer. By starting now, you can create an environment where it’s easier to lean into some of these physical options instead of scrolling. There can be a bit of an adjustment period which is natural. You may want to have some of the things that you’ve chosen in places that are easy to reach and accessible to you and the people in your home. If things are accessible, it’s easier to choose them. If you have other people in your home, you can invite them to participate with you as a way of making the experience feel inclusive. Not only does this make it easier to participate in your analog summer; it also helps to create a healthy habit.

When I was looking at this, I also saw how activities like this can increase calm in individuals and in the home overall. With summer heat and some potential for challenges to the grid, if there are any wobbles with power or if brown outs begin, this can help to make the experience a little less stressful. If the power goes out, even for a little while, it can be stressful and can make everything shift from what the plan for the day was into a new plan. If you have already curated some analog items and have them in places that are easy to access, you’re already one step ahead. If you and others in your home are already used to incorporating some of these things into your daily routine, it will feel more natural to enjoy those options while waiting for the power to resume.

Like most things, there’s no one way or right way to do this, just the ways that are right for you. Maybe you can give yourself permission to try one activity each day to ease into this shift. You can even color while watching a movie even if only for 15 or 20 minutes. Pay attention to how the physical activity makes you feel and then choose things that feel gentle, easy, and enjoyable for you. Investing in a little bit more analog is a worthwhile investment this month whether it’s outside activities, inside activities, or both. You don’t need to put pressure of yourself to make sure you’re choosing the right thing, just try something that sounds fun to you and go from there. A bonus about analog is that you get to reconnect to things you may have enjoyed from summers in your past and enjoy them all over again while also being inspired to try something new.

I hope that you’ll give yourself some space to enjoy the physical, tactile, and even clunky aspects of an analog summer. Honestly, those are some of the best things about it, that you can physically hold something and experience it as it was intended. So, if you’ve been holding onto an old boombox, dust it off, get your tapes or CD’s out of your case logic and set it up. Or fire up the record player, run cords all over the place and experience something the way you did in a summer gone by. Taking good care of our nervous systems has been such a strong theme this year, and it’s continuing this month. I’m wishing you a wonderful month and would love to hear how you’re integrating some analog into your summer if you feel guided to drop me a note. I’d also love to hear how it’s making you feel and what surprised you about it.

If you feel guided to work with me during a private session this month, I would love to support you. You can schedule your session by clicking the link below to get into my schedule. I know schedules can be a bit busy during the summer and if you need to schedule your session for a day and time that isn’t listed, please send me a note and we’ll find something that works for both of us.

As always, I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you.

With deepest gratitude, thank you so much for being here,
Kristy~xoxo

P.S. I’m planning on working in my little garden, trying some new recipes, listening to records, and turning a table into an official puzzle table for the summer.

Joy Is Important too...

Hello and welcome to June~

I hope this finds you well and enjoying a little bit of down time for yourself today. As we enjoy the final weeks of Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere and prepare for Summer to bring in the heat and all that comes with summer on June 21st; I wanted to send you a little note about a strong theme that’s been showing up for this month.

Joy is important too, and so are you.

This is the message that keeps coming through when I ask about the themes and messages for this month and this new energy. It may seem simple and in many ways it is, which is why it’s also so significant and so powerful. You may feel an emotional response while reading this statement because so often both of these aspects are sidelined for other things.

Joy is important too, and so are you.

There are lots of news stories, local and global which can feel stressful, overwhelming, and heavy which is something that I know you already know. Over time, this continued experience can take a toll. At first, it may show up in seemingly small ways; a tight jaw, stress or pain in the neck, shoulders, or back. Then, maybe in other ways too, feelings of exhaustion, lethargy, or even sadness. Then, one day you may realize that you don’t really remember when you felt like your real self. These kinds of experiences are a shared experience but often highly sensitive souls like yourself don’t talk about them or ask for help. Not because you don’t want support, but because you’re very accustomed to taking care of everything and everyone. It feels natural for you to see what needs to get done and then to get to it and begin checking things off the list. This is absolutely important and as a responsible adult, you know that if it is to be it’s up to me. During this process, sometimes, the highly sensitive soul can begin to sideline their own needs, their own care, and their own personal life. Things like, I’ll add to this to the list tomorrow, or when things get a little less stressful, or when I get around to it, or these other things and people need me more right now… Any combination of these things or maybe something else entirely that has kept you sidelining your own needs during this stressful time can create a palpable impact.

This is definitely not a message about not taking good care of the things and people that are important to you. This is definitely not a message about not honoring your responsible style and insights that you have about what’s happening in your life and the world around you.
Instead, it’s a message about honoring you.
Yes, you.
You are important.
You, the real you.
You matter.

The things that bring you joy, true joy are important, valuable, and an investment in all aspects of your life. As you invest in your joy, everyone in your circle benefits. So, if in the past you’ve worked on balancing giving and receiving, you can see this as an opportunity to give to others as you allow yourself to receive and invest in yourself. So, what does this mean and what does this look like? It looks like you actually placing yourself back onto your list and at the top. It looks like you making space for the things that matter to you. Taking 5 minutes to enjoy your cup of tea while it’s still hot; fully enjoying it while being present. It looks like listening to music just for fun. It looks like going for a walk, swim, or bike ride purely for yourself to enjoy that experience. It means calling a friend to chat and laugh and catch up for the sake of enjoying one another’s company. It means allowing yourself to use the good plates just because you love them. It means trying a new recipe because it’s been sitting in a pile of things to try for a long time…but you haven’t made it because you’re nervous about it not working out so you wait for a more perfect time. It means doing 1 thing each day for you that brings you true joy.

You may have been so far removed from this practice that you aren’t sure what brings you joy anymore. That’s okay. In fact, this means that you now have an opportunity to try some things that brought you joy in the past to see if they still resonate for you. It also means that you get to try new things too so you can find what truly brings you joy right now in this place in your life. If you feel a little bit stuck on where to start, that’s okay. If you have someone in your life that you really trust, you can ask them what kinds of things you used to enjoy and what kinds of things brought you true joy. Sometimes we need reminders from people who love us and then it can help to unlock the feeling of not knowing and get you inspired and moving forward. You can also look through old journals, pictures, or things that you have around you to help ignite your inspiration.

This isn’t one more thing to add to your daily to do list.
You are not one more thing to add to your to do list.
You are important and a priority in your own life.

This is a time to reconnect to you and to your true self by honoring your investment in joy and in yourself. You don’t have to spend money doing this, it’s about choosing to make yourself a priority in your day. For some people, this may be a brand new practice and for others it may be a return to something they haven’t done in a long time. No matter where you find yourself in this message, this is an opportunity to practice taking care of yourself and taking care of what brings you joy. Maybe it will be in recapturing quiet moments that you’ve dedicated to other things and people for some time. Maybe it will be in getting back to doing something you love that you set down along the way for other things and people. Maybe it will be ____________. It’s not about what it is that you do, it’s that you choose yourself in whatever ways you feel guided each day. It’s about not putting yourself on the when I get everything else finished list. It’s about remembering that Joy is important too, and so are you. The truth is that no matter how well organized, thoughtful, committed, and responsible you are, there will always be something else that needs to be done or added to “the list” tomorrow. There will always be something stressful or challenging happening; sometimes in our personal circle, sometimes outside of that circle. However, by practicing this important theme in your own life, you’ll be able to shift into a space where your joy and your life are a priority while you also support and care for the people in your life you’re guided to support.

This message for June is so prescient, there is a sense of urgency for us to sharpen this tool now. There’s a message that as we move into this new month and new season, we can create a positive daily habit that will support us as we move through the remainder of this year. Even 5 minutes makes a positive impact and investment into your day, your spirit, and in the way you move through the world. What can you do today to experience joy, true joy? You are worth investing in your overall quality of life by taking good care of yourself. Start by choosing 1 thing today.

If you would like support from your angels in this shift to making yourself and your joy a priority, you may feel guided to work with Archangel Michael, Archangel Raphael, or Archangel Ariel. You can also ask your guides to give you support, ideas, and insight about ways to support you as well.

If you would like to work with me for some insight, specific messages, or support in this area or anything that is showing up for you right now, I would love to support you through a private session. I know there’s a lot happening right now and I’m here for you if you’d like my help.

I know that June can also bring up schedule shifts for people as they adjust to school being out for the summer break. If you would like to schedule a session but need a day or time that is not listed, please send me a note and we’ll find a time that works for both of us.

I’m wishing you a very gentle June filled with things and people that rise up to greet you and help you to feel seen, appreciated, and filled with joy.

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, straight to you!

With love and deepest gratitude,
Kristy~

P.S. A very happy Father’s Day to those of you who are celebrating this month.

Increasing the Volume of Your Inspiration, Insights, and Ideas

Happy June~

I hope this finds you well as we move into a new month and a new energy.
Did May feel like it was extra long this year or was that just me? Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we are winding down the Spring season and preparing for the beginning of Summer all in the next few weeks. It’s an exciting time and one that brings with it lots of movement, shifts, and changes. You may have noticed this shift showing up for you in your life too. Maybe you’re literally moving, or maybe you can feel an upswing in your energy which is moving you to get things going in your life that have felt stagnant. However this energy is showing up for you, this is a wonderful time to take action on your personal inspiration, insights, and ideas.

Working hand in hand with this uplifting energy is a gentle but very palpable message about increasing the volume on joy. Sometimes we feel like our joy meter is either on or off but if you can think about it like a volume dial that you can manually increase at any rate you want, you can find ways to increase your dial at a rate that resonates for you. One of the ways that you can increase the volume of joy in your life is by investing in the aspects of life that feel meaningful and fulfilling to you. It doesn’t matter if other people in your circle enjoy the same things you enjoy, it only matters that you feel uplifted and fulfilled. Every investment in these activities increases that volume dial allowing you to reduce stress, tension, and feelings of overwhelm while moving into the flow of something you enjoy at the same time. Another benefit of investing in things that you like or even love to do is that you actually recharge your batteries while you’re doing_____________. You may find that you notice an additional boost in your energy, mood, and outlook allowing you to move forward with something that you’ve been wanting to work on. This creates momentum for you in many areas of your life, and simultaneously increases that volume on joy. Win-win.

There’s no one way or right way to do this, only the ways that feel right for you right now. For some people, they may feel inspired to make plans with people they haven’t seen in a while. Others may feel guided to take action on projects, dreams, or to do lists they’ve been meaning to get to. Some people may feel guided to begin clearing clutter, working on gardens, and other DIY projects that finally feel like “today is the day” kind of inspiration. Some people are being guided to delegate and ask for help. Many people are being guided to learn or practice new skills that they’ve been dabbling with here and there. While others are receiving messages about moving their bodies more, eating lighter nutrient dense foods, and getting outside more frequently. What messages have you been receiving lately? You’ll know that you’re receiving divine messages by the repetitive nature of the message and the thoughts and feelings that come with them such as, “I was just thinking that.” or “Woah, that seems like it was a message for me too.” or “Why do I keep hearing the same thing every time I walk by a conversation, turn on a video, or read a post?” Messages are often repeated over and over until we realize that they are for us. You can always ask for a confirmation if you’re unsure the message is for you. You may be receiving more than one message as we move into this new shifting energy. Finding ways to allow yourself to honor your messages in the ways that feel like a fit for you will support you in enjoying this shift while also honoring your inspiration, insights, and ideas.

As a highly sensitive soul, you may find yourself feeling a bit tentative at the thought of the messages or inspiration you’re receiving. That’s okay, if you notice any tension or tightness, please just take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth…good. You don’t have to do everything today. In fact, if you can try to shift your perception from tasks or work to play and fun it can help to decrease any nervousness you may be feeling. By starting with something, anything, you will begin to capitalize on that movement and momentum happening. You can choose something seemingly easy or fun or set a timer to work on something for a specific amount of time and then stop when the timer ends. Sprinkling investments of time in the things, people, and aspects of life that are meaningful to you will support you in increasing your joy. This will also support you in making the shifts and changes that are important to you which will also increase your volume on joy. You can do it and yes, you are 100% worth the investment of your time and energy. Your dreams, insights, and ideas are equally important as others and seemingly small investments always add up to big change.

I’m wishing you a wonderful new month filled with kind people, experiences, and opportunities. I’d love to hear how you’re investing in your personal inspiration, insights, and ideas this month!

If you feel guided to work with me or you’d like me to look at the messages that are showing up for you right now, I’d love to work with you. You can schedule your session here.

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, straight to you.
With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Reaching for Peace

I hope this finds you well as we officially move into the final month of the year. If you celebrated Thanksgiving last week, I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend and are recovering from all the yummy food and festivities.

As we move into December, we move full swing into the holiday season and can feel the tempo of the energy increasing as we move toward the end of the year. This time of year brings up all kinds of things for us no matter where we are or how old we are. This time of year can activate old memories, nostalgia, excitement, and an opportunity to participate in favorite activities that mark this season for you or to create or cultivate new traditions that you enjoy. It’s also a time that can feel like it takes on a rhythm all its own and sometimes it can feel like the season is moving too quickly or that you aren’t able to be fully present in the way you want. This experience is universal, it’s not a message that you aren’t doing something right or that you aren’t trying hard enough to hold onto the holiday season; it’s part and parcel of this movement toward the end of the year.

In addition to the holiday season we’re also wrapping up the remainder of the Autumn season in the Northern Hemisphere and moving into Winter on December 21st. There are so many things happening this month and we get to move through these shifts and changes all while honoring the season in the ways that are right for us. One of the ways you can capitalize on the gentility and quiet spaces between all the things happening this season is by reaching for peace. This is something that will be personal to you and allows you to reach for peace in the ways that resonate for you. For some, it may mean saying yes to the aspects of the season that bring the most joy and fulfillment. For others it may mean saying no to too many requests for time away from home. It may mean embracing the simple and significant moments that are meaningful for you and yours. It may be sitting in front of the fire with a cup of cider or caroling or ________________. It could be preparing a favorite holiday dish or simply enjoying the sparkling lights that are popping up all over houses, streets, and trees each day. There’s no one way or right way to reach for peace this season. There are only the ways that are right for you and yours. In fact, you may find that one day you choose something that feels right and another day something else is the exact right choice. It’s about finding the right balance between saying yes to the activities that are right for you while also saying no to the ones that aren’t a fit this year. I promise, you’ll know which ones are a yes and which ones are a no. Just check in with yourself and you’ll receive a clear message. By checking in with yourself throughout December, you’ll find that you automatically experience more peace and presence; and you may find that you feel more connected to the holiday season at the same time.

As we turn the final page on the calendar this year, it’s also natural to take a little time to reflect on all that you’ve experienced during 2023. This review process may have already started for you, maybe you’re already looking over the things you’ve done, how you’ve shifted, and the things you’re bringing with you into the new year. This is a good time to allow yourself to gently review your year while also letting yourself move through this process in the ways that feel right for you. Maybe you keep a journal and you feel guided to read through it to reflect on your year. Maybe you made a vision board this year and you feel guided to look over it and see what you experienced and what is still being created and still in progress. Maybe you keep a photo journal and feel guided to scroll through your life in pictures or video to reflect on your year. Taking a little time to move through this process and to glean any takeaways from the themes you experienced this year can be very supportive. Like most things this season, there’s no need to push or force this process, rather move through it in the ways that feel right for you.

While there are lots of things happening this month, here we are at the very beginning which allows you to choose how you want to move through this holiday season and the last month of 2023. I invite you to take a little time today or tomorrow to check in with yourself about how you want to celebrate December. Leaning into the season in the ways that resonate for you will allow you to experience more presence and more peace. Moving at your own pace will allow you to make the most of this time and yes, you’re worth it.

I’m wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy holiday season and a happy new year!

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, straight to you!
Thank you for sharing your year with me.
With love and deepest gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

Schools Out for Summer: Tapping into the Magic of the Season

Hello, I hope this finds you well as we welcome July.

It feels like it’s been so long since we last connected, I don’t know about you but June felt like a really long month this year. We’ve officially arrived to summer here in the Northern hemisphere even though it’s been pretty hot in my little corner of the world for a while now.

When I think about summer I often think about summers as a child and how exciting it was to have time off school, long summer nights, and lots of fun with friends and family. As a grown up, summer can sometimes feel a bit different with most of us working during this time and maybe some extra responsibilities too especially if you have little ones at home. I was thinking about ways to keep that whimsical summer energy woven into the season even with the responsibilities of being an adult. While there are lots of ways to do this, I was thinking that it could be helpful to think about a few of the seemingly simple stand out memories or favorites that you hold dear. You may be able to find a common theme for yourself when you do this. You may find there’s favorite foods you enjoy making because they represent summer to you. Maybe you like to do certain activities like making smores in the back yard because you have fond memories of doing that as a child. Maybe you really look forward to setting up an outdoor movie night with popcorn and other favorite snacks. Maybe for you it’s all about the swimming or maybe you’re already creating piles of summer reading books. The options are endless, it really just matters what stands out to you when you personally think about the energy of summer.

Taking a little time to find the theme or themes that are a fit for you can help you to bring that experience into your summer this year. You don’t need to pack every day with activities or spend lots of time away to enjoy the experience of summer. By choosing your theme and setting the intention to bring your personal brand of summer into your season this year, you will find that it allows you to open the door to the things that feel like summer for you. It can also add a little excitement, whimsy, and magic to your season too. You may find it helps you to tap into that childlike joy you had when you thought about an entire season of time off from school to play and have fun.

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself to help you find a theme that feels like a fit for you this summer. You may want to write down your answers if you feel guided and you can come back to the exercise at any time you choose. There are no wrong answers, so you can just relax and have fun with this process.

Take a couple of deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Good, letting go of any tension, tightness, or stress that you may feel holding space inside your body. Go ahead and take another breath, and let go of any to do lists, or other things that may be holding space around you; knowing that you can go back to them when you’re finished.

  • When I think about my 3 favorite summers; these are the summers that come to mind:_____________________________________________________________

  • Why do these summers stand out as favorites for me? __________________________________

  • How did these experiences make me feel? ___________________________________________

  • Were there similar aspects to these summers or are they special because they are each unique? ___________________________________________________________________________

  • Who was with me during these favorite summers? ______________________________________

  • What kinds of activities did I do?_______________________________________________________

  • What were some stand out moments or aspects that felt special to me? ______________________________________________________________________________

  • How would I describe these experiences of my favorite summers? ____________________________

  • What aspects or themes stand out when I look back over those summers? ______________________________________________________________________________

  • If I had to choose 3 words to describe my favorite summers, what would they be? ______________________________________________________________________________

  • How do these words make me feel? ____________________________________________________

  • How can I incorporate these words or themes into my summer season this year? __________________________________________________________________________

  • When I think about using these themes as an intention for this summer, I feel______________________________________________________.

  • My personal theme for the summer of 2022, is the season of _____________________________________.

Great job, now you can take a moment to just sit with any emotions and memories that you’re experiencing around this or you can continue to write down any ideas or inspiration this created for you; whatever feels right for you.

I hope this will help to bring a little spark of excitement, joy, and even some childlike wonder to your new season this year. In any ways that feel like a fit for you I hope that you will enjoy celebrating the themes and aspects of the season that resonate for you and yours this summer.

I look forward to participating in some of my favorite summer activities too; things like riding bikes, early morning hikes, making popsicles, more canning, swimming, and yes, getting through some of my piles of summer reading books. I would love to hear about your personal theme for the season if you feel guided to share it with me. I’m wishing you a wonderful summer!

I’m sending you lots of love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you!

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo
