Prioritizing Calm, Consistency, and Cozy

It’s October!
I can’t believe I’m waking up and it’s already October. If you love this time of year, whether it’s the hot apple cider, pumpkin spice everything, sweaters, cozy socks, or the beautiful colors that mother nature provides, you’re not alone. Or, if you’re here for spooky season and all the fun and magic that comes with that, welcome to the magical month we call October. No matter what speaks to you this time of year there is something that happens when we officially turn the calendar today. I’m joining you in the excitement, nostalgia, and the intention to pack all my favorite things into the next 31 days to the best of my ability. (That will include a lot of baking, simmer pots, hot drinks, Harry Potter rewatch, and all the cozy vibes.)

While I personally believe that this month officially kicks off operation cozy, this year there are some other themes showing up to offer us some support and focus as we move forward too. You may have noticed over the last several weeks or maybe even longer that you’re receiving a strong message about cultivating a routine that feels supportive for you. Something positive and uplifting that you can focus on that doesn’t take much time but also allows you to see progress as you invest in your routine. Maybe you’ve been guided to get back to a workout schedule that you’ve let go for a bit. Maybe you’re being guided to start something new to shake up your exercise routine a bit. Some people have been guided to do a bit of a clear out of foods that aren’t really resonating for them anymore. Others are being guided to do a daily meditation, journal exercise, or get back to a creative outlet regularly. Some people are being urged to change their sleeping schedules so they go to bed 30 minutes earlier (or more) so they can start their day refreshed in the morning. What have you noticed showing up for you?

Whatever messages you’ve been receiving about starting something new or recommitting to a routine is a powerful message of support right now. In focusing on one or maybe more than one area this month, not only will you cultivate consistency, you’ll create and nurture new neural pathways. (win win) You’ll also find that it helps to reduce tension and stress that may be holding space within and around you, allowing you to support and even recalibrate your nervous system so you feel more calm and more like yourself. These are really important benefits that you can receive no matter what you’re guided to invest in this month. I was shown that this aspect that may seem small is actually a significant shift for you and for everyone who honors this guidance. With increased tensions, stress, and uncertainty being a theme showing up in news cycles consistently, this skill set will be a strong asset in supporting you as you continue to move through this month and the remainder of the year. You may find that you can inspire someone else in your life to make this important shift too.

One of my favorite things about this time of year, it’s really difficult to choose only 1 favorite is the fact that there’s something innate or hard wired within us to begin pulling our energy within. There’s a deep call to slow down, to hunker down, and to enjoy creature comforts every day. Little things like changing up lighting for twinkle lights, a fire in the fireplace, candles, cozy blankets, the fuzziest of socks, all the pillows, a favorite homemade soup simmering on the stove, and crisp October air help to click this feeling into place. It’s like all at once we all feel this call to begin making our spaces calm, comfortable, and cozy. We move into a space where calm and peace become a conscious priority for us and that theme is especially prescient right now. What a perfect time to be focusing on this theme of making our physical spaces and internal spaces a place where we feel calm, comforted, and at peace. This focus automatically supports us in choosing relationships and experiences that resonate with these priorities too. You’ll find that as you make this shift, the other shifts and changes happen organically, almost as if by magic. This deep call to make calm, gentle, and peaceful spaces a part of our daily lives is especially timely for us, and any investment in this goal will be a worthy use of your time and energy. You will yield the benefits of cultivating these themes this month and as you move forward.

People often ask me why I believe this month tends to bring “more” connections, communication, synchronicity, or messages from angels, guides, or departed loved ones. Maybe you’ve pondered this too. I don’t think there’s one “correct answer” on this topic; however, I do believe it’s a combination of things happening at the same time. I do see the veil thin during this time of the year which allows for more connections and moments of clear messages coming through in all different ways. However, we actually receive messages all the time, sometimes it’s just not as easy for people to notice them due to their busy lives. This brings me to another aspect of what I see contributing to this experience for people…the quiet, calm, and peaceful focus of this time of year allows for an easier connection or a “stronger” connection to be experienced. A combination of quieting the mind and the body paired with the thinning veil and of course the energy infused into this month all work together to help increase these experiences for people. If you’re wanting to increase your connection this season, this is a great time to pay extra attention to messages you see, hear, feel, and know. If you enjoy dream journaling this is a great time to write down your dreams throughout October to look for themes and insights. It’s also a great time to schedule a reading, if that feels like a fit for you. Remember you can always ask your guides, angels, and departed loved ones to give you a message that you’ll easily notice and understand.

This month is filled with so many beautiful changes, which are happening all around us each and every day. These changes are impacting you and your life too. The more that you can allow yourself to enjoy and lean into these changes the more you’ll find that you automatically click into the themes and messages of prioritizing calm, consistency, comfort, and of course, cozy. These are so important for all of us across the board, but perhaps even more so at this time we are called to make peace a personal priority.

Make a wish list or a dream board for all things October. Play in the energy of all things fall, autumnal, pumpkin spice, cozy books, and all the aspects that light up your heart and soul as you think about all the ways to enjoy this entire magical month. By playing, being joyful, and loving the things that call to us, we automatically shift into calm, comfort, and cozy too. In fact, the more often we allow ourselves to do this, to laugh, play, and have fun we cultivate consistency too. (win win win) So, go big with your operation cozy this month in all the ways that call to you; it’s so worth it in so many ways! You are 100% worth it!

I’m wishing you a wonderfully magical and cozy October! May it bring you all the joys and whimsy your heart desires while also supporting you in infinite ways!

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!

With deepest love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

New Month, New Season, New Cycle

October Anne of Green Gables (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

Happy October!

A new month and a new season is upon us and if you’re living in the Northern Hemisphere, October may bring to mind all kinds of cozy and comforting energies and memories. While it’s still hot in my little corner of the world, I know that eventually it will start cooling down and all the comforts of the new season will make themselves known.

This is a great time to invest some energy into making your home feel calm, comfortable, and cozy. We’re moving into a time of slowing down, shorter days, and longer evenings. Naturally, there’s a call for us to rest more, to spend more time at home, and to care for ourselves in a gentle way. Maybe you’ve already begun this process, and if you have, you’re already tapping into this new energy.

Seemingly simple shifts can make a big impact on the way you feel and they way you organically move into this new season. You may notice that by making some of these changes, you’ll feel the tone of your home begin to change. You may even notice that the people who live with you, including fur babies respond to this subtle but palpable shift.  Some of these shifts can include pulling out your big duvet cover and the flannel sheets. Maybe you’re already in the process of streamlining your closet and letting go of things that are done and bringing warmer layers into the forefront so they’re easy to find. Maybe you’re putting your gardens to bed for the season and finishing up the last of your canning and preserving and thinking more about baking.

There are so many ways to honor this shift we’re moving through right now and the most important way to experience this shift is in the ways that resonate for you and your home. Only you know what feels like the right fit for you. Maybe you like to incorporate something that was done in your home when you were a child and maybe you’ve found your own recipe for moving into a new season that you love to replicate each year. Maybe it’s a combination of both, a little something old, and some things you’ve curated over time. Maybe this season you’re going to create something brand new that feels like it’s the right choice right now.

Sometimes people tell me that they get nervous that they didn’t do ____________ or ___________ on a particular day or feel they’re running behind on what they feel they should be doing. If any of these feelings show up for you, please take a breath, and know that you’re not alone. This is definitely not something that you have to accomplish all in one day or by a certain calendar date. This is something that is meant to be supportive and comforting for you. You get to decide what that looks like and when it happens. Please give yourself permission to go at your own pace and ask people for help if you could use some support. There’s also no exam, grade, or feedback that will be held over you during this process. Many highly sensitive souls (like yourself) often feel an underlying level of pressure or anxiousness about making sure everything is right, correct, and on point. This natural shift and the way that you choose to mark it is meant to be fun, uplifting, and gentle. Yes, gentle.

You may want to take a little walk through your home to tune in to what you would like to feel, see, hear, and connect with this season. This can be a powerful way to anchor your vision into your home.

You may want to ask yourself:

What does October make me think about?

What makes me feel like it’s October?

What kinds of things do I like to eat and drink during October?

What colors, images, and textures resonate for me when I think about October?

What kinds of activities do I like to do throughout October?

What kinds of sounds resonate for me during October?

What kinds of themes or areas of growth do I want to focus on throughout October?

In what ways do I like to connect with my spiritual self during October?

Your answers to these questions can really help support you in cultivating a month and a space that rises up to greet you as we move into this new energy and season together. These questions will probably spark some other ideas, inspirations, and memories for you too! I’d love to hear how you make this month speak to you.

In addition to the physical shifts you feel guided to make in your home, this is often a powerful time to connect to your spiritual self. It’s not a surprise to me that as we tend to get quieter and spend more time indoors we also increase our ability to connect, hear, and recognize more easily the messages, synchronicities, and divine downloads that are being given to us. Maybe you’ll integrate some meditation, prayer work, or other aspects of your spiritual life to your days throughout October.

I’m wishing you a beautiful month, filled with the things, people, and experiences that will resonate with you and bring you a deep sense of comfort, peace, and happiness. For me, that means making all the things. You’ll find me spending my free time baking, cooking, and making lots of diy’s while adding cozy blankets, throw pillows, and spicy oils into my diffusers.

I’m sending you so much love and gratitude from my teeny corner of the world right to you!

All my love,
Kristy~xoxo

P.S. Thank you so much for the gratitude gifts and for being here with me, I am so grateful to be here with you!

P.P.S. You may know that we’re officially into Mercury Retrograde right now. Breathe, this is not a “bad luck” thing but it is an opportunity to review things, to move mindfully, and to prepare for things to resurface and repeat. This would be a great time to back up your files, your external hard drives, and to take a quick inventory of anything that you may need to refill, replenish, or restore. (This includes us, you may find yourself needing a bit of extra rest at this time too.) I’m wishing you a gentle retrograde cycle and please know that I am here to support you if you feel guided to reach out for some support. xoxo

I’ve had a lot of requests for an opportunity to offer a gratitude gift through patreon or a smiliar platform. I’ve added this option here and on the home page for those of you who feel guided to support my work in this way. If you feel guided to offer a gratitude gift, please click below with my deepest thanks and love. I’m continually humbled by your generosity of spirit, kindness, and support. xoxo
