Comes In Like a Lion, Goes Out Like a Lamb

Hello,
I hope this finds you well as we officially greet March and begin this brand new month, together. As I was sitting down to write this message today, I was thinking about the longtime folklore surrounding this month and I realized that it feels especially prescient right now. One of the big themes that keeps showing up for this month is a deep call, nudge, or feeling to get things done. It feels different than knowing there are things you’re wanting to work on, it feels more like being compelled to get things done and to get to work on them right now. You may be experiencing this in your life too.

For some people it may show up as a to do list that you begin to prioritize and feel drawn to take a closer look at what you’ve compiled since the last time you picked it up. You may have been adding things to your list for several weeks or even several months but all of a sudden you wake up and almost have the feeling that, today is the day, and begin taking action on list. You may notice that you feel inspired, energized, and on some level revitalized as you move through your projects. You may even find yourself wondering why it’s taken you so long to get going because it feels so good to dig in and get things done. If you notice some of those thoughts coming up, please try to be gentle with yourself. For many people, this is the right timing to get things done, so you’re right on time.

For others, this nudge may show up as frustrations, irritation, and even a little bit of discomfort in the body. Sometimes we may feel like no matter where we look there’s something out of place in the room, house, backyard, etc. We may feel that no matter what we’ve been doing, that things are just beginning to pile up and it feels physically uncomfortable to us. Often for highly sensitive people, when our physical surroundings feel a bit heavy or in need of some shifting, we feel discomfort on the inside too. Sometimes, if we live with other people they may not even see or understand what feels overwhelming because in the grand scheme, it’s not that big of a deal. However, it is a clear message that making some time to clear the space or spaces is important. When you honor this call within you to get some things shifted, you will feel a deep off loading of tension and stress and your home will feel lighter, gentler, and more peaceful too. Maybe you’re experiencing a little bit of both of these aspects showing up for you right now.

Maybe you’re physically beginning to feel stronger and ready to hit the ground running on some ideas, projects, or things you haven’t been able to get to because you’ve been in a healing phase for a while. (Raises own hand.) If you’ve been in a healing phase too, please be gentle and let your body tell you when it’s time to move forward and when to take it easy. Even seemingly small projects will feel great and enjoyable, you don’t have to do everything all at once or all on the same day.

No matter how this nudge or surge of energy is showing up for you, it’s a powerful time to harness this momentum so that you can work with the energy coming through right now. I see a clear delineation between the beginning part of the month, often referred to as the Lion aspect of March and after the 20th which is the first day of Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere also known as the Lamb aspect of the month. There’s this guidance to get going now during this first part of the month, to make progress, to go for it, to make changes, to create and cultivate solutions and streamline so that we can greet and enjoy the gentler energy when Spring arrives and have a little extra time to play, enjoy, and celebrate the shift from Winter into Spring.

If you’re wondering if this means you must finish everything on your list in the next 20 days, please take  a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Please release any tension or tightness you may be feeling in your neck, shoulders, or tummy. This doesn’t mean that you need to do everything, all at once. It just means that the feelings, messages, and guidance that you’ve been receiving about this new energy coming in right now are accurate. If you’re receiving these messages in any ways, please just let me confirm them for you. I see and feel them too, and in any ways that you feel guided to move forward right now, you’re moving in the right direction. Things that have felt stuck or sidelined may feel like they are getting movement, momentum, and motion again. As you honor this call to action in any of the ways that are right for you, you’ll find that you receive support from this current energy right now too. As you take action, you’ll find that you’re able to get more accomplished than you may have realized. This is a time of opportunity but you get to choose how and what you feel guided to work on during this time.

I’m wishing you a wonderful month filled with momentum, magic, and musings. I hope that the Lion and the Lamb aspects are equally rewarding and supportive for you. I’d love to hear what you’re being guided to shift, work on, and enjoy this month.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!

With all my love and gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

Winding Down Within

Happy December, I hope this finds you well as we begin the final month of the year.

While I was thinking about this month and how it holds so much within it whether it’s holiday traditions, travel, time with loved ones, reflecting on the year, or preparing for the new year I was reminded how much polarity is held within December. There are so many things happening outwardly around us while we’re also being guided to slow down, to rest, and to enjoy the aspects of the season that speak to our souls. You may be feeling this experience already even though we’re at the very beginning of the month. If some of these things are already on your mind, that’s okay. This is a great time to take a few minutes to tune into your guidance about how you want to move through this time and this season.

You may have some special things on your list for this month that bring you joy, feel uplifting, and are restorative for you. Events, activities, and practices that resonate for you and that make you feel connected to this season; activities that are a definite yes for you. Your “definite yes” activities are wonderful and a powerful way to know which aspects of the season are calling to you this year. Sometimes, with so many invitations and activities, the things that can sometimes get set aside are the aspects of the season that involve quietly or gently nurturing ourselves. The cultivation of our inside care and comfort is as equally important as the other aspects of the season but often overlooked for a variety of reasons. When this happens, we can feel like we missed out on some of the joy or magic of the season because we weren’t able to fully experience it and take it in the way we hoped.

Something that can help is to think about ways you can honor your vision for the season and the things that are on your list while also taking good care of yourself; this can help create balance and a support system for you. I’ve included some exercises for you below to help you find the theme and aspects that are resonating for you this season. Please remember there are no wrong answers here and you can come back to this at any time you feel guided. This is just a way to connect to some ideas, inspiration, and guidance from your higher self about aspects of the season that are showing up for you this year.

Okay, let’s start with a deep breath, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Good, releasing any tension or stress in your neck, shoulders, or tummy, and one more breathe in and out. Good.

  • My Favorite thing about December is ___________________.

  • I look forward to ________________ all year because it makes it feel like the holiday season to me.

  • One of my favorite ways to comfort myself is to ______________________.

  • It wouldn’t feel like the holiday season to me without ___________________.

  • My favorite quiet activity to do during this season is ______________ because _______________.

  • The most meaningful aspects of this season to me include:_____________________________.

  • This month makes me feel_____________________________.

  • My favorite restorative practice right now includes_____________________________.

  • If I were to create a new tradition for the season this year, I would choose ___________ because _______.

  • I feel grateful for _______________ this year.

  • I am healing and continuing to work through ________________ this year.

  • I’m consistently caring for myself by______________ and I notice the impact it’s making because ______________.

  • If I could add one activity to my season this year it would be___________________.

  • A tradition I still honor each season is ______________ and it makes me feel ______________ because______________.

  • I feel like I need more Joy, Happiness, Love, Peace, Grace, or ______________ this season.

  • If I could let go of one invitation or activity this season, I would choose ______________ because____________.

  • I feel like I need more Gentility, Comfort, Understanding, Support, Rest, or ____________ this season.

  • My must watch movie for this month is __________________.

  • I feel called to spend time investing in ___________ this month.

  • If I could choose a theme for this season, I would choose______________.

  • My soul longs for _______________ this season.

  • I can honor my soul and theme for this season by __________________.

Great job! I hope this helped you to find some strong themes, insights, and inspiration into ways that you can honor yourself and your holiday season this year. Please remember that seemingly small shifts lead to big success. Investing in one or two aspects of the things that are meaningful for you this season can make you feel more connected, present, and joyful during this time. You don’t have to do everything all by yourself and it’s okay to slow down a little bit as you enjoy December in the ways that are right for you and yours.

I’m wishing you and your loved ones a beautiful holiday season and a very happy new year!
If you feel guided to work with me this month, I’m here and available to support you.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you!
With love and gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

Cultivating a Soul Salve

Happy April,

I hope this finds you well as we begin a new month and lean into a new season.
I was trying to find a theme to focus on for this newsletter by tuning into the messages I’ve been receiving, the energies that have been showing up lately, and the recurring issues that seems to be really prescient for people right now and nearly everything was pointing to a deep focus on ways to honor, soothe, and comfort the highly sensitive soul (like yourself). So, grab a cup of tea or something soothing and let’s look at ways that you can cultivate a Soul Salve for yourself this month which you can use at any time when you feel like you could benefit from some extra support.

When things get stressful, overwhelming, or intense; whether these things are coming from within your own personal life or on a larger scale outside of your personal life it can have an impact on the nervous system which can create some additional stress responses. As a highly sensitive person, this natural experience can be felt on what seems like a magnified level. While there are so many wonderful things that come with being highly sensitive, the deep feelings and empathy can make stressful situations well, feel more stressful. (I know that you know this all too well as a fellow HSP.) The good news is that there are things that we can do to honor our sensitivity while also helping to soothe and support ourselves even if we’re experiencing big shifts and intense energies.

The great news is that there’s no right way or one way to do this, there are just the ways that are right for you on any given day. This means you can change, shift, and update your support system at any time which removes any pressure to choose something that you’ll use forever. So, take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth…good, letting go of any stress that you may feel holding space in your chest or stomach, good…remembering, this is something that is personal to you and meant to be a support system, and it can also be fun.

I’ve included a little exercise for you below which can help you to pin point a few things that may want to be added to your personal support system right now. You may want to get some paper and something to write with to jot down the things that come through for you. There’s no wrong answers and I promise you that you will receive messages and answers to the questions below. Just relax and breathe and have fun.

Imagine a space that’s just for you, it can be anything that you want it to be.
Maybe it’s a room that’s just yours, an office, a music space, a sunroom, a garden, an open air building at the sea, or something else completely, but it’s just yours. A space all for you.

Inside, fill it with the things that make you feel uplifted, calm, relaxed, soothed, and like you.
The you that feels peaceful, healthy, focused, happy, and __________________.

  • What does your space look like?

  • What does your space feel like?

  • What sounds do you hear in your space?

  • How does your space make you feel?

  • What items do you have in this space?

  • Why does this space feel calming and supportive for you?

  • Is there anything else you would like to add to this space?

  • How can you integrate these things into your daily life now?

  • What one thing can you do right now which will offer you some additional comfort in your daily life, now?

  • Is there anything else that you feel guided to do to support your overall sensitivity at this time?

Taking a few minutes to go through this exercise can help give you some insight into some things that your soul is personally wanting or needing at this time. You can use it as many times as you feel guided. Remember, seemingly small shifts lead to significant results. There’s no need to do all the things all at once, focusing on one or two things that resonate with you can cultivate a deep support system for you.

Some other things that have been coming up for many people lately and they may resonate with you too include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Needing to drink more water

  • Eating gentler foods, feeling guided to eat lighter and or healthier foods

  • Desire to move the body through gentle exercise

  • Participating in a gentle cleanse or fast (gentle being the key word here) This can include reducing refined sugars and alcohol.

  • Increasing full spectrum sunlight

  • Increasing vitamins and minerals

  • Reducing screen time and increasing listening to music or audio books

  • Beginning or revisiting breathwork whether it’s square breathing, yoga, deep breathing, or any kind of conscious breathing to help soothe and calm the nervous system.

  • Revisiting creative outlets to reduce stress and increase calm, this can also include coloring, gardening, and reading books for pleasure.

  • Removing clutter or items that are ready to be donated or recycled.

  • Increasing salt baths, hot tub time, or swimming

  • Focusing on your personal energy and cycles and honoring them to the best of your ability.

  • Rest and Sleep: if your body needs more of these things right now, please try to honor them to the best of your ability.

  • Journaling to help release and reset

  • Deep focus of making your inner circle and your home a place that’s calm, peaceful, and gentle.

I hope this very prescient theme about taking good care of ourselves is something that resonates with you right now. I know that it really resonates with me. As a deeply sensitive soul, sometimes it can be easy to focus on ways to help, support, and soothe others because it’s so natural for you. Sometimes, during this process, it can be easy to forget to do the same kindness for yourself. Please let this be a gentle and loving reminder that you are worthy of support and care too. I see you. I see you taking care of all the people you love in your world. It’s important to give yourself some grace, love, and care too. This month, please give yourself permission to cultivate your own soul salve in the ways that speak to you.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you!

With all my love and gratitude,

Kristy~xoxo

I’ve included a special for you below that will last through Monday the 4th ending at 5pm pacific time. You can schedule your session for any day you choose. (one per person, please.)

Food for Your Soul

lavender english.jpg

The last couple of weeks a strong message and theme has been showing up for me and I was wondering if you’ve been receiving it too. It’s a message about needing deep genuine true rest, comfort, and care. Not in the sense that I should take a few extra minutes to get up from my desk and stretch between appointments or to make sure that I’m getting outside (when the smoke isn’t too thick), or turning off my screens an hour before I want to sleep at night. The message was about a deep true rest, one that I need to invest in so that I can off load a deep layer of heaviness that is ready to clear. Heaviness from grief over news stories, built up stress, and the day to day intensity of being a highly sensitive person in a not so sensitive world.

Are you receiving this message too?

As a highly sensitive person, (like yourself) it’s imperative that we find ways to take good care of ourselves so that there isn’t a bottoming out of our energy, strength, and sense of joy and life satisfaction. Even if you’ve been doing your daily practice, you may have noticed that there’s something else happening and that you’re in need of something more than your usual recipe of hsp self care.

Please know that if you’re feeling this too, you’re not alone.

Just like you, I have a full schedule of responsibilities and things that need to get done so creating space for a deep rest was an opportunity to stretch my scheduling muscles. Like most things, there’s no one way to honor the divine downloads that you receive. It’s not so much about how you do something, but that you find the ways that are a fit for you and your needs; even if it looks different from someone else.

For me I needed to physically rest my body while also doing something to feed my soul.

I tried to do some things that I really enjoy, so I tried working on an easy knitting project…that didn’t work. I tried to make some fun diy’s that were running low around the house…that didn’t work. I tried to putter around in my garden…that didn’t work.

So, I decided to actually allow myself to lie down and rest and the thing that I did to feed my soul was watch some people I love on youtube cook, bake, and create things. It was really relaxing, soothing, and on a deep level very healing for me. It felt comforting to watch people prepare meals, bake beautiful cakes, preserving food while canning, and making dresses, window boxes, and all kinds of things. This may not seem like a worthwhile investment of my time, but it was exactly what I needed. I could feel that heavy layer that was ready to clear lifting off of me while I truly allowed myself to rest and reset.

No multi tasking, just rest.
No list making, just rest.
No planning, just rest.

Our body and soul knows what we need, but a lot of times we try to work around this wisdom for a variety of reasons. If we can make space, even a small segment of space to honor the messages we’re receiving, we can shift more easily. Maybe the message you’re receiving about rest and feeding your soul will look completely different from my message; the only thing that matters is that you listen to the messages that you’re receiving so you can take good care of yourself right now.

Maybe you’re being guided to:

  • Increase more laughter, so watching something that makes you literally laugh out loud will be on the menu for you.

  • Increase music in your home whether you play it yourself, or by listening to music, or having it on in the background instead of television.

  • Change the foods or beverages you’re eating to something gentler to give your body a rest so it can more easily digest and help increase your energy.

  • Let go of something that has run its course allowing your life to become a little more gentle, calm, and comforting.

  • Read for pleasure, even if that means reading a book you’ve read before, just for fun.

  • Or ________________________________.

You know what kind or rest and care you’re needing right now, please give yourself permission to honor your wisdom.

If you find yourself wondering, “Is this it?”

Take a deep breath, in through your nose, and out through your mouth and then ask yourself,

“What kind of rest and soul support do I need right now?”

Then pay attention to any feelings, ideas or memories, words or sounds, images, tastes and smells you receive. These are messages for you about your personal recipe of soul soothing support right now.

Honoring the messages that you receive even in seemingly small segments of time is a worthwhile investment and it will yield huge dividends for you.
No matter what your personal recipe of support looks like right now, know that it’s the exact right one for you. Just like in *cooking, you can add a bit of this and that to create the perfect dish that’s right for you.

My wish for you is that you will carve out a little bit of time to honor your messages right now and take good care of yourself. We need you! We need that kind, compassionate, beautiful spark that you bring to this world.

Thank you so much for being here, I truly appreciate you!
If you feel guided to work with me this month, I would love to support you whether through and Intuitive Session, Energy Treatment, or a Coaching Session.

I’m sending you love and deepest gratitude from my teeny tiny corner of the world to you.
Love,
Kristy~ xoxo

P.S. I’ve had a lot of requests for an opportunity to offer a gratitude gift through patreon or a smiliar platform. I’ve added this option here and on the home page for those of you who feel guided to support my work in this way. 5 Ways to Support Self Care

heart beach flowers (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

Just dropping a quick note to say hi, and to check in with you and see how you’re doing today.

As we continue to move deeper into this Mercury Retrograde cycle and find ourselves moving closer to Valentine’s Day; I thought I would share some of my favorite + fast ways to support self love and self care.

While these terms may have reached buzz word status for us as a culture, their value and level of importance are still significant and worthwhile investments. I find that overall, these areas tend to be sidelined the most by busy, high functioning, and highly sensitive people…like yourself. There’s always something else that tends to be more important for whatever reasons, which often activates the I’ll get it onto my list for tomorrow scenario.

If this resonates for you, take a breath.

It’s okay.

You’re not alone, in fact you’re in really good company.

However, there are lots of ways you can honor your self care while still caring for the other people, projects, and promises on your lists.

You may have noticed that some big themes surrounding healing, relationships, and old patterns have been coming up for you during this retrograde period. Some of the issues showing up may be about taking good care of yourself, holding boundaries with people who need them, and letting go of the past so that it’s no longer weighing you down.

Maybe the themes showing up for you include focusing on wellness, simplicity, or personal peace.

Maybe it’s ________________________.

No matter what your theme is or how it’s showing up for you right now, this is a beautiful time to take good care of yourself while you move through your messages and divine downloads about how this retrograde is supporting you in releasing what is no longer serving you.

Self Care and Self Love can be quick and seemingly simple while also creating a big impact on the way you feel. Below you’ll find some of my favorites which are great for highly sensitive souls who often find themselves with lots of items on their daily to do lists.

I hope you’ll find this supportive while also inspiring you to create your own personal list of quick go to’s so you can cultivate a pattern of self care for this retrograde and long after.

Calm + Comforted

Think about the 5 Senses: Sight, Sound, Scent, Taste, Touch
There’s a reason places that generally focus on creating a relaxing or supportive atmosphere put a lot of emphasis on these aspects. Our nervous system instantly responds to these areas and moves us from a stress state into a resting state.

You don’t have to spend a lot of time doing this, I promise. (You can do this almost anywhere.)
At home, you can turn on some gentle music, fill your diffuser with your favorite oils, use warm or relaxing lighting, drink something you love out of your favorite mug or glass, and maybe add in your favorite sweatshirt for a bonus. (you check off touch and taste with your favorite mug plus something yummy to drink but a favorite sweatshirt too, yes please.)

Dry Brushing

This helps to calm and soothe the nervous system and supports overall wellness by moving the lymph system. With so much time being spent at home and often sitting in front of a device, dry brushing can help to move the things that the body is trying to release. This is also a great way to gently exfoliate your skin. This is a great treatment to do before you shower or soak in your bath.

Breathe

Consciously practicing some deep breathing or belly breathing throughout the day helps to reduce tension and stress inside your body while also supporting your nervous system and helping to clear your mind. (Win. Win. Win.) Set 5 alarms/reminders on your phone throughout your day. When your breathing reminder chimes; stop and take a deep breath in through your nose, hold it for a count of 3 and then exhale. Repeat this breathing technique 3 times; then you can get back to what you were doing before the reminder. You’ll notice a difference even after 1 day of this self care treatment.

Move

Moving your body, even for 5-7 minutes will help to clear your body of tension and stress, increase oxygen to your brain, and help you to clear the meh energy from being in front of your computer and under too much artificial lighting. You can dance around your house while you blast music, you can stretch, go for a quick walk around the block, walk around your kitchen island if you can’t go outside, or anything else that feels like a fit for you.

Bath Time

Pour yourself the kind of bath you would make for someone else you love. All too often, we don’t take the time to indulge in a healing bath treatment for ourselves but will happily create one for someone we love. There’s no right way to do this, but there are some things that really take a bath from good to fantastic.

Focus on the 5 senses to create your bath treatment; use gentle lighting, get those oils out for a nice comforting aromatherapy experience, maybe use your favorite soap or bubbles you’ve been saving, play some gentle music, grab a little snack and something to drink, and make sure the water temperature is to your liking.

Let the bath completely fill before getting in, you don’t need to rush, you can actually enjoy this experience while also bathing.

Spend at least 20 minutes indulging in your bath, remember no need to rush. You’ll find that you relax pretty quickly during this treatment.

Here are some things that you can add to your bath to customize your experience to honor your needs:

Epsom Salt: Soothe sore muscles

Sea Salt: Help clear away energetic energies weighing you down and also support those who are land locked in connecting with salt water.

Lavender Flowers/Essential Oils: Calming, gentle, and can help with winding down for sleep.

Rose Petals and Other Favorite Fragrant Flowers: Infuse your skin with scent and flower properties.

Citrus Rounds and Herbs: These can add comfort and scent to your skin. Citrus is cooling for the skin so this is a great option when the weather is warm. I love a combination of lemon, lime, and grapefruit paired with rosemary and lavender.

Milks and Honey: These can help to slough off dry skin while polishing or fortifying.

ACV: Helps to detox and alkaline

Green, White, and Dandelion Tea: Helps to detox the body, green and white tea have caffeine in them, so use sparingly if you’re caffeine sensitive or before sleeping.

Chamomile Tea/Flowers: Very calming for the skin and body, can help with winding down for sleeping and helps to calm the nervous system and nervous tummies.

If you aren’t a bath person or don’t access to a bath, you can still create a soothing shower treatment.

Focus on the 5 senses, and maybe mix a custom salt scrub for yourself so you can support your skin and infuse it with the treatment that will support your current needs.

Overall, investing in any treatments or self care systems will yield big benefits for you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You are 100% worth it! I hope this little list will inspire you to try some new ways to take good care of yourself, starting today.

I’m wishing you a gentle day and a very gentle remainder of this Mercury Retrograde cycle.

Sending you a big hug from my little corner of the world to you,
Kristy~xoxo

3 Reasons Why Highly Sensitive People Benefit From Energy Treatments

relaxing water.jpg

If you’re anything like me, you’re a highly sensitive person who tends to be really good at multi-tasking and getting a lot of things done every single day.

One of the biggest challenges for people who tend to be empathetic, highly sensitive, and introverted is that they tend to take on other people’s emotions, thoughts, feelings and experiences as their own as they go about their day.

When someone is really great at getting a lot of things done, and tends to have a lot of things on their list they’re often exposed to lots of people places and things that can feel intense, overwhelming, and even challenging.

If you think about how a sponge picks up water as it moves across a surface, you can better understand how sensitive people feel at the end of the day. Full, tired, and heavy…

Now, imagine doing that over and over again every day without clearing out that sponge.
Yep, if you’re imagining a sponge you wouldn’t want to use to clean anything, you’re on the right track.

This is what happens to people like yourself who are constantly going, going, going but that often don’t have the time or energy to clear out from everything that’s happening in and around them.
Over time some of the things that can show up for highly sensitive people include but aren’t limited to:

  • Exhaustion

  • Burn out

  • Trouble Sleeping

  • Brain Fog

  • Low Energy

  • Sadness

  • Feeling of Heaviness (within and around you)

  • Bloating

  • Weight Gain

  • Lethargy

  • Loss of Joy and or Happiness

  • Feelings of being separated from Sense of Self

  • Feeling like there is not enough time for the things that make you feel like "yourself"

  • Feeling compartmentalized within your own life

  • Feeling marginalized by the people in your life (Friends, Family, Colleagues)

  • Sickness/Dis-ease in the body

Just like that sponge; the body, mind, and spirit need to be cleared on a regular basis so that you can maintain optimum health and wellness.

Below are 3 of the Main Reasons Energy Treatments are a Powerful Way to Support Highly Sensitive People

1. Always Helping Others, But Need Help For Yourself Too:
One of the biggest issues for highly sensitive people is that they’re hard wired to support, help, and intervene in people’s lives.

They often tend to be the “Go To Person” within their world; which leads them to having lots of people who come to them for extra support, guidance, and direct help.
They gladly help the people in their world every day.

However this person feels like they don’t have anyone to help or support them.
Most of the time, this is 100% true.

  • Energy Treatments allow the helping person to receive direct help from a professional they trust so they can literally release all the stuff they’ve been carrying around for weeks, months, and in some cases even years.

  • Energy treatments move that heaviness out of the body and mental space so that the person feels like themselves again.

  • Many times, the person will literally look different when they leave than when they arrived because they let go of so much heaviness. Most people will also feel like they let go of a huge weight and that they feel back to their true self.

2. The Catch 22:
Most highly sensitive people have lots of things that they want to get done in their own lives but don’t have the energy to implement them by the time they’re finished with their day.

This can contribute to or create a deep sense of sadness, heaviness, and even loneliness.
Highly sensitive people are compelled to honor the ideas, inspiration, and calling of their hearts or inner knowing.

If this calling is placed onto the back burner for too long, challenges come up for these sensitive souls.

  • Energy treatments can help to release that feeling of exhaustion and heaviness so there’s more energy and clarity to take guided action toward personal projects and passions.

  • This creates a cyclical effect which leads to more joy, happiness, and life satisfaction.

3. Self Care/True Rest:
Because Highly Sensitive People tend to have a lot going on, they often report:

  • Burning the candle at both ends

  • High levels of stress

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Problems quieting their brain

  • Never finishing everything on their lists

As you can imagine, this can lead to a lot of physical stress in the body as well as self induced pressure.

  • Many of these folks report feeling like they are always playing “catch up” and feel bad about themselves because they are always chasing lists which never end.

  • This can create a feeling of not being enough which creates more tension and stress.

Energy treatments allow the mind and the body to rest and get quiet so the sensitive person can experience true rest, relaxation, and respite.

  • This true rest is what’s needed to help bring all the other pieces together allowing the sensitive person to feel renewed, relaxed, and more like themselves again.

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms of being a highly sensitive person, you’re not alone nor are you imagining any of these things.

Your sensitivity is a gift to everyone but it's important to take good care of yourself so you can live the life that's right for you.

Please give yourself permission to reach out for some Direct Action for yourself in the form of an Energy Treatment if you're so inclined.

I’m wishing you a gentle day and just sending you a gentle reminder that yes, you’re worth it and you’re deserving of taking care of yourself too.
With love,
Kristy~ xoxo

Why Increasing Water Leads to Increased Intuition

People ask me for tips on increasing their intuition all the time. One of my favorite ways to open up those intuitive pathways is by increasing water. I think this one goes under the radar for people sometimes; maybe it’s because it seems so simple that it gets overlooked, but it’s one of my favorite go to ways to fire up the intuitive muscles. There’s several ways to increase water and they all work wonderfully but I suggest using all of them. You may not be able to do all of them all the time but you can mix up the ways you increase water based on what’s right for you and your lifestyle. I’ve included some ways below but please feel free to create your own recipe for increased water in your own life.

Drink More Water:

This one tends to be the most overlooked tip for increasing intuition.
Many people overestimate how much water they’re drinking in a day. Water helps the brain and the body work efficiently and we are interdependent on water to maintain our health and life.
Without drinking water, we can’t live very long. Dehydration contributes to a long list of issues and one of those includes challenges with thinking and focusing. When you’re dehydrated it’s also more challenging to connect with your spiritual gifts and intuition.

Water also helps to move toxins out of the body; allowing the body to physically be more clear, light, and receptive. When the body is weighed down or polluted, the intuitive channels can become cloudy and weighed down too. It’s similar to being in really bad traffic on the freeway because there is an issue up ahead. Everyone and everything becomes impacted by that issue which slows everything down and doesn’t allow for things to move along as smoothly as they should.

Some people count tea and fruit juices as water consumption and add it to their daily amount of water. I’ve found that drinking water and hitting the amount that’s right for your body is a game changer in opening up and increasing your intuition.

If you divide your body weight in half and drink that amount in ounces, you will be drinking the *suggested amount of water for your body.
(If you weigh 120 pounds, you would drink 60 ounces of water each day to reach your daily suggested amount. This measurement may vary depending on your particular situation, please check with your health care professional about what’s right for you.)

Feel free to enjoy other beverages along with your daily water but drinking water in its natural state without tea added to it etc. is the big game changer. It’s fine to infuse your water with cucumber, lemon, or other fruits and veggies that you like. Just avoid counting caffeine and sugar spikes as your daily water intake.

Out of Sight Out of Mind:

If you’re like me and forget to drink water unless it’s right next to you, don’t worry. You can still get your water in for the day, but you’ll have to carry it around with you. The great news is that there’s lots of water bottles on the market now, there’s one for everyone. Go get one that you like or dig yours out from the back of your cupboard and fill it first thing in the morning and carry it around with you. It will make it so much easier to remember to drink your water and you’ll notice that you’ll remember to refill it once it gets low.

Listen to Water:

The sound of water is very calming, clearing, and helps the body to release and relax. Maybe you’ve noticed that when you’re at the beach, lake, or even near a water fountain you begin to let go and feel more relaxed. Some people can physically feel tension or pain reducing when they hear the sound of water.

When we reduce or remove stress we can more easily access our intuition and messages from our angels, guides, and departed loved ones. Whether you have a water fountain in your home or office, live near a large body of water, or you listen to water sounds on a music file; you can increase your intuition by spending time listening to the sounds of water.

Take a Dip:

Getting into water is a quick and effective way to clear away the noise of the world and to calm the mind and the body. Just like listening to water helps the mind, body, and spirit to release and relax; getting into water does the same thing but it’s even more powerful. Swimming in a large body of water, soaking in a bath, and even taking a shower can help to open up your intuition. Many people report coming up with ideas, inspiration, and solutions when they’re in water; maybe you’ve experienced the same thing. I’ve received a lot of intuitive messages and downloads while in and under water and know a lot of intuitive folks who talk about the clarity they receive from being in and under water. All water supports increased intuition but I’ve found that getting into salt water has a super charging effect on the connection and clarity. Any way that you can get into water, including your swimming pool, hot tub, or bath tub will help you to continue to open up and nurture your intuitive muscles.

I hope you’ll enjoy finding ways to increase your connection with water and enjoy opening up your intuition at the same time.

Honoring Your Sensitivity During Stressful Situations

With all of the intense news stories over the last couple of weeks, energies have been running high. I’ve definitely found myself deeply impacted by the global and national news and have found my heart weighing heavy. I’m sure that you as a highly sensitive person have felt it too.

It seems that nearly every client I’ve worked with in the last couple of weeks has felt a heavy heart, a bit of pain in their neck and shoulders, a feeling of heaviness or lethargy, and a deep sadness about the recent events.

As a sensitive person, not only do you move through your own personal feelings about any kind of challenging or painful situation but you’re also impacted by the global thoughts, feelings, and overall impact as well. This can create another layer of heaviness and or pain in addition to the feelings and emotions that you’re already working through.

When intense or deeply painful feelings are being experienced it’s even more important to take really good care of yourself. It can feel like a bit of a challenging cycle when you’re feeling overwhelmed or lethargic and trying to manage a really busy schedule. Often times, the thing that gets put onto the back burner during highly stressful times is self care. This can then lead to a whole other ball of wax that can lead to getting sick and exhaustion.
Not a good thing.

I wanted to share some of my favorite quick ways to foster self care as a way to offer you some extra support right now.

Please know this is not an end all be all list, it’s just a jumping off place for you to get some ideas and try different things to see what works for you.

What I know for sure is that you don’t have to spend a lot of time investing in self care to make a positive impact in your day.

However, you do have to do something.

Small segments of time invested in your self care adds up and is worth every moment of your time. I promise you, You Are Worth the investment. All the people within your world will benefit from you taking time for yourself, including you.

Smudge
Burning Sage to clear yourself and your home or office helps to clear away heavy and dense energies that have built up within and around you. This method is a powerful way to completely clear your environment and it quickly shifts the energy. Smudging electronics is also very helpful especially since so much of our information and communication is transmitted through our devices. This method does have a strong smell and creates smoke so you’ll need to open your windows while you sage your home or office. If you aren’t able to burn sage do to an allergy or building codes you can also use the sage spray. (Don’t spray water directly onto electronics or fabrics.) You can find sage at most health food stores and it’s very affordable. You don’t have to use the entire sage stick or spray bottle to clear your home or office; one sage stick or bottle provide many clearings.

Breath Work
Breathe. During stressful situations, people begin to mouth breathe which turns up the stress response in the body including increasing stress hormones which then flood the body creating a stress cycle. Breathe in through your nose, hold the breath for a count of 2 and then breathe out through your mouth for a count of 2. Repeat this breathing technique 3 to 4 times through. This works like a control alt delete for the body and helps to reset your central nervous system to rest and restore which is your natural state.

Disconnect
Turn off your phone, computer, tablet, and any other device for 10-15 minutes. Yes, you can do it. Then physically move into a quiet space and breathe. If you can physically move your body even if it’s a walk around the office, house, or block do it. The body holds onto the electromagnetic frequencies from your devices and it’s physically draining on the body. Disconnecting allows you to recharge your battery.

Go Outside
Getting outside allows your body to breathe fresh uncirculated air while also decompressing from the energies which have build up inside your home or office. It also exposes you to sunlight which is good for your health, allows you to physically slow down and get back onto your natural body clock which is very different from your digital clock. 5-10 minutes makes a huge difference. Try not to take your devices outside with you if possible.

Essential Oils
Pure essential oils are a wonderful support system physically, emotionally and mentally, and spiritually. You can mix a few drops with a carrier oil like coconut oil and rub it onto your wrists, chest, and bottoms of your feet to help soothe, comfort, and relax you. Some relaxing and soothing oils include:
Lavender
Bergamot
Lemon
Eucalyptus
Rose
You can also diffuse them into your home or office to help create a soothing environment for yourself and others. This is a diffuser that I’ve used and really like. (But there are endless choices available.)

Now Foods Ultrasonic Real Bamboo Diffuser
NOW Foods- Nutrition and Wellness

Sweat
Yep, sweating literally moves heavy and stressful energies out of your physical body which helps you to feel better physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually too. It doesn’t matter how you work up a sweat. You can sit in a sauna or steam room, workout, lay out, garden, build something, dance, or any way that works for you.

Nap
Even if you aren’t a napper, resting or closing your eyes for 15 minutes or longer allows your body to go into rest and restore. During sleep the body repairs itself so investing in sleep helps your body to heal, clear, and come back to balance.

Spoonk
I’m not affiliated with Spook but I love their mats and they really work. This mat puts pressure on the meridians in the body releasing the comfort, restore, and renew hormones in the body while moving out stress and tension. This mat also helps to decrease pain and pressure that comes from sitting at a computer for long periods of time and has been shown to reduce inflammation in the body. (Inflammation leads to pain.)

Energy Work/Body Work
If you enjoy energy work or body work, this helps to clear away heaviness, tension, stress, grief, and or pain from the body. When you’re feeling like something is off or you know that you are carrying around extra stuff that you want to release, working with a trusted healer is a great way to honor your self care.

Creativity
Any kind of creative outlet that you enjoy will help you to clear, self soothe, and move into a place that feels nurturing to you. Make things, play music, decorate, write, create, color in a coloring book, or cook a delicious meal. The options here are endless, the big shift is the doing part. Make time to do your creative outlet and don’t talk yourself out of it because it will take too long to get started or because__________. Invest in your creativity.

Talk It Out
Sometimes talking about how you’re feeling allows you to open a floodgate you may not have even realized was closed. A trusted friend, family member, partner, coach, or therapist can be a powerful source of support for you.

Highly sensitive people often bottle up their feelings because they don’t want to burden their loved ones or add anything to someone else’s already overflowing plate. They often tend to be the person that others come to for help which can compound their situation.

If you find yourself in this group, the group who feels guilty talking about your feelings, needs, or stressors, I recommend working with a counselor, coach, or therapist rather than a loved one. They have time to talk to you and you aren’t bothering them or adding too much to their list or load. It’s important for you to release your feelings as well as the feelings and conversations you’re carrying around with you from your loved ones.

I hope this helps to give you some ideas of how to increase self care in your day to day schedule.

P.S. Do you have a friend or family member who’s also highly sensitive? If so, please share this with them so they can invest in their self care and decompress from stress too. Thank you!
